HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-0521 REG MIN M&y 21, 1935 No. 14 The council met in regular session at 7:39 P. M. this date. Present: Acting Mayor Blake, Councilmen Applewhite, Hansen~ Ingle. Absent: Ma~r Wiley, Councilmen Gregg, Wenner. ,Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Monthly reports of the street, Light and Water Departments were read, acoepted and ordered placed on file. , Biegel reported on the For*miller alley, stating that same did not belong to the City. A letter from H. B. Carter concerning a leak in the septio tank on Mountain Avenue was read. }tr. Carter was present and he and Hoslert Water Sup't spoke concerning its oondition, and probable means of cor- recting same. The following applications for building permits were presented: No. 11. To rebuild a house at 115 Lincoln stre~t at an approximate oost of $800.00 by Wm Rosso . No. 12. To remodel front and tint inside of store at 142 East Main street at an approximate cost of $500.00, for Fortmillers by Frankj..Jordan. No. 13. To build a garage at 72-6th street at an approximate oost of $150.00 by R. 3. Gem'hart. ' No. 14. To remodel dwelling at 96 Mea~e street at an approximate cost of $500000 by J. H. McGee. Moved by Ingle that the permits be granted. Seoonded by Hansen. Carrm6 Committee reDorts: Water: Hosler reported on the new pipe line. Realty: Hansen reported that the roof of,the Mission on 4th street was in very bad condition and suggested that 1t be sold. He also reported that the Badio Club wanted to use the Pioneer Bldg. for meetings. " Applewhite reported on the SSRA. He stated tha~ the wa~er of w. J. Fields had been shut off for non-payment and that F1J~lds haaea large family. No action was taken. The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance on firecraokers. Moved by Ingle that the rules be susp'ended and the ~rdinance.be pa:s~d to the seoond reading by title only. Seoonded by Han~en. Carr1ed. Ha~1ng been read the second time, it was moved by Applevvh1te that ~he ord1n~nce be adopted. Seoonded by Hansen. Roll call was ordered on 1ts ~doptecinJ the vote being Ayes, 4, Nays O. Carried.
