Bills amounting to $8087.57 were read as to total amount only /
same having been oked by the Finance Committee. Moved by Applewhit~
that the b1~ls be paid, seoonded by Wenner. Roll call was ordered,
the vote be~ng Ay~s 6, Nays O. Carried. A bill for legal services from
Briggs and Van Dyke was oonsidered. Moved by Ingle that the bill be
reterred to the Finance Commi ttee wi th power to act. Seconded and car-
ried.
Application for the following building permit was presented:
N~. 15. To remodel and re-roof dwelling at l19-7th Str~et at an

A. L. Coggins spoke against the building'o{Y~~ernew gYmnasium near
the Community Hospital. Dr. Redfo:bd, President s.a.u.s. 8'01(e in favor
of same. There was oonsiderable discussion, and a letter read by Wenner
:from the Hospi tal Staf-r stating that there was nq..,."'l.01t~I~~on on their
part. Aoting Mayor Blake referred the matter to ~~tal CowwlLteeo
Mr. Chas. A. White spoke again on getting city water to gis place
in Bellview. The matter was referred to the Water Committeej
Committee Reports:
F1nanoe: Moved by Wenner that $41,950000 be transfered from the
Electrio Fund to the Sinking Fund to pay $18.000 Normal School Site bonds
and interest and $21.000 Auxillary Water Bonds and interest. Seoonded by
Gregg. Roll oall was ordered, the vODe being Ayes 0, Nays O. Carried. It
was also moved by Wenner that the Treasurer's action in selling $26.000 in
HOLe bonds by the Electrio Light Fund be app~oved. Seconded and roll call
was ord&red, the vote being Ayes 6, Nays O. Carried.
street: Biegel repprtea that the barn at the corner of Wimer and Hitn
streets would be tlbm down and replaced by ai-garage if paid $25.00 by the
City. Moved by Wenner that the street Commi ttee IS' off-er to pay $25.00 for
the~val of the barn be approved. Seconded by APPlewh. it.. Carried.
~ App~ite repprted that the pavement needed repairs on Van Ness and
A streets on account of lumber truoks. He also st.ted that Ashland may be
cut ot~ from the Pacific Highway if the City does not widen the streets
thru to.., by parellel parking or other means. The, City Attorney was in-
struated to contact the state Highway Committee on the matter.
Realty: Hansen reported on the condition of the Mission bldg on 4th ~
The Orange Avenue vaoation hearing was soheduled for next meeting.
Ingle spoke on the Pin & Ball ordinance, withdrawing his previous
obJeotions. pedller's lioenses were also brought up for discussion.
KOTed by Wenner that the applioatio~ of W. F. Sullinger for indorse-
ment of beer license be recommended tor, approval. Seconded by Ingle.Carr14
Koved by Wenner that the City Attorney revise the ordinanoe on penal.
