Woods gave a detailed report on his duties as City Health Officer which was very instructive and interesting. It was moved by Ingle that a warrant be drawn for $25.00 in payment for special services rendered by the Health Officer for which a bill had been rendered, but had been held up. Seconded by Gregg. Carried. K. V. Hill of Greeley and Hansen, 'Engineers, was present and spoke on the specifications and plans _for the sewage disposal plant. and presenting a bill for ~165.00 for 'surveying. Moved by Ingle that this bill be allowed subject to ok by the Finance Committee. Seconded by Applewhite. Roll call was ordered, the vote being Ayes 4, Nays o. Carriedo Monthly reports for the Library, Electric, street and Water de- partments and Recorder were read, accepted and ordered placed on file. It being reported that a clock belonging to the Hospital had been removed and taken to Medford, it was moved by Gregg that the City Attor- ney beinstructed to get the clock. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Committee Reports: Van Dyke reported on the specifications for the sewage d~sposal plant. Biegel reported on the oil butner for the Recorder's office stat- ing the best price benng ~90.00 for a new stove at Hardy's Hardware. It was moved by Applewhite that the City buy the stove at $90.00. Seconded by Hansen. Roll call was ordered, the vote being Ayes 4, Nays O. Carried. An addressograph and graphotype having been reco~~ended by a com- mittee at $440.00, it was moved by Ingle that the city obtain same at $440000. Seoonded by Gregg. Roll oall was ordered, the vote being, Ayes, 4, Nays O. Carriedo Biegel recommended adjustments on water and light accounts total- ing $71.34. :Moved bur Ingle that the adjustments be made. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Gregg reco~nended ff#J,"~" that Phoebe McCoy"363 Iowa Street, be granted free lights and water, and ma~e the motion, seconded by Applewhi te. Carried. " Air Fort: Applewhite reported that ~12150 had been allotted to the Ashland Airport. Moved by Hansen that the Airport Committee negotiate wi th the Department of aeronautics in accepting: this allottment. Second- ed by Gregg. Carried. A resolution authorizing the acceptance of the oontract with Greel- ey and Hansen was read by the Ci ty -'1. ttorn:ey. Moved by Ingle tha t the rules be susDended and the resolution be passed to the second reading by title only. Seconded by Applewhite. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved by Gregg that the resolution be adopted as read. Seoonded by Ingle. Rmll call was ordered, the vote being Ayes 4, Nays O. Moved by Gregg that the resolution be pas'sed to the second reading by title only, the rules being suspended. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Following the secone reading, it was moved by Applewhite that tllelresolution be adopted as read. Seconded by Gregg. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, .J\.yes 4, :Nays O. Thereupon, the l,Iayor declared the resolution ado];>ted. It"V'l.:ras moved by Gregg that the minimmn wa.ge scale set for work on tne sewage disposal plant be changed to read 40~, 55~, 65~ and 85 ~ per hour instead of of the rates set under date of October 2nd. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Payment of services of Wm Laing, architect, on the Hospital heat- ing plant was discussed. Moved by Hansen that Mr. Laing be p~id 5% of the oontract price of the new heating plant and be advanced Q25.00 on same. Seconded b~ Ingle.
