The council met in regular session at 5:00 P. M. this date. (The
regular night for this meeting having been devoted to the hearing of the
City Reoorder on oertain alleged oharges). Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoil-
men Applewhite, Gregg, Hansen, Wenner. Absent: Counoilmen Blake, Ingle.
The reading the minutes of previous meetings was dispensed with
The questuon of substitutin. vitrified pipe foroonorete pipe w~s
disoussed. and it was moved by Gregg that the City Attorney and
the City Superintendent look after the sending af a telegram to the
PWA headq.arters conoerning this substitution. Seoonded and carried.
!he Puruoker claim for payment for repairs to the hospital furn-
ace was oonsidered and i t was moved by Applewhi te that th e bill be
referred to the legal department with power to aot. Seoonded by Wenner.
Carried.
The City Attorney read a letter from the Jackson County Court
relative to the wreeking of the Ho.lInes Grooery store building at the
corner of North :Main and Church Streets. It was moved by Wenner that
the Mayor be authorized to sign a letter attested by the City Reoorder
aooepting~he offer of the COlUlty in making the wrecking of this old
building Ii a WPA proJect. Seoonded by Gregg. Carried.
A oil!. from Greeley a.nd Hansen for engineering services in oon-
neotion with the Sewage Disposal Plant representing 4.3% of the cost
of the work for whioh plans and speoifioations are prepared and amount-
ing to $3.428.47 was submitted. MOTed by Gregg and seoonded by Applewhite
that the bill be allowed and warrant drawl for same. Roll oall was ordered,
the vote being Ayes: Applewhi tet Gregg, HBJlsen, Wenner. :Nays: None.Carried.
(!his bill was re-oomputed before payment and determined to be $3353097
and warrant for this amount drawn and sent to Greeley and Hansen wi.th
letter of explanation.
The easement ~~ the Billings property was discussed aDl upon motion
by Applewhite, seconded by Hansen. it was agreed to make a bonif1de effort
to lay a road along the right away. Carried.
A bill from W. J. Chipman for oalsomining rooms in the hospital ii'
for $38000 and from Fred aarlson for painting radiators at the hospital
for $11.65 and from the City Attorl1.ey tor $150.00 for legal servioes and
$28084 for travel expenses were presented. Moved by Applewhite and seoonded
by Gregg that the bills be allowed. Roll oall was ordered, the vote being:
Ayes: Applewhite, Gregg, Hansen. Wenner. Bays: 0 Carried.
A bill from Kenneth G. Denman for $100.00 for legal servioes in
conneotion wi th 1; he hearing of the Ci ty Revorder was presented. Moved by
Applewhi te and seconded by Hansen tha t the bill be aj.jowed. Roll oall
was ordered. the vote being, Ayes: Applewhite, Gregg. Hansen. Wennero
Nays: None. Carriedo
The Mayor Wrought up the payment of the legal servioes of Don Newbury
oounsel for th e Reoorder and it was moved by Wenner that if th e oharges
were not sustained or were dropped that Mr. Newbury should be paid a reas-
onable amount for his servioes likewise. Seconded by H~sen. Carried.
Applioations for renewal of liquor lioenses for the year 1936 were
presented by all former lioense holders, same having the writ*en approval
of tie Chief of Police. The Mayor stated that he was opposed to the liquor
licenses and the liquor business and wanted his opposition to be a matter
of reoord. Koved by Applewhite that the applications be granted. Seconded
by Hansen. Roll oall was ordered. the vote being Ayes: Applewhite. Hansen.
Wenner. Nays: Gregg. Carried.

The lease with Mr. Moon tor the Air Port Property was disoussed
and it was moved by Hansen that the Mayor and Recorder be authorized
to exeoute a lease based upan the terms disoissed and determine4 by
the City Attorne'y and City Superintendent.
Mr. Whiting was present and asked cpnoerning his services with
the City. Wenner stated that he felt :Mr. Whiting should remain until
the system was thoroughly understood and that he should be given a
raise in pay to $175.00 per month tor the neoessary time. Following
some disoussion. during whioh the Reoorder stated that a day .r two
would be sufficient to go over the system with Mr. Whiting. it was
moved by Wenner that Mr. Whiting be given t150000 per month tor the
month ot December and $35.00 additional expenses for return travel
provided he remained to the end of December 1935. Seoonded and oarried.
