The oouncil met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Blake, Ingle, Kooser, Swedenbur
Absent: Counoilmen Gregg, Hansen. (Hansen oame in later) go
Monthly reports of the Library and City Dump Ground were read,
aooepted and ordered placed on file.
Applications for building permi:bs were presented as follows:
No.4. To re-roof ani paint dwelling at 168 Meade street at an
approximate 08..' of $140.00 by Bertha C. Rowland.
Moved by Ingle an d seoonded by Blake that th e permi t be granted
subject to oomplianoe with building regulatio~s. Carried.
Upon motion by Blake, seconded by Ingle, the straightening of
the road from Nutley street to Winburn Way was referred to the street
Committee with power to aot. Carried.
Dr. Mattie B. Shaw was present and asked that "C" Street adjaoent
to her property be oiled in order to prevent the great amount of dust
caused by the stages passing by on this street. This pavement was of
maoadam and had been paid for by Dr. Shaw. Upon motion by Swedenburg.

Irri~ation Water: Koozer had the City Attorney read a l?ng letter
written to the Talent Irrigation Distriot oonoerning the ent1re question
o~ adJustment o~ oharges made by the District against the City inoluding
maintenanoe oharges per aore ~oot. n~ber of aore ~eet and original cost
o' the irrigation projeot. A long discuss-on followed.
The question of aoreage irrigation rates for the present year were
disoussed resulting NAn a motion by Koozer that the City Attorney be
instructed to draw up a tentative contract to present to the growers
with the explanation that there would be a rate of $10.00 per aore for
irrigation providing the grower signed up for a ten year period and that
the City was able to seoure a minimum 6:t 150 aores for irrigation under
the Talent ditoh and 100 acres unde:it the City"water or otherwise a rate
ot t12.tiO per acre if oontracted for on an annual basis only. Seoonded
by Swedenburg. Carried.
Councilman Hansen same in at this time and took his place.
The neoessiLty of transtering the additional t6,OOOoOO from the
Electric Fund to the Sewage Disposal Fund was brought bt by Biegel, City
Sup't. Upon motion by Ingle, seconded by Koozer the $5000.00 transfer
was authorized. Carried.
The annual CleanlUp-Daj' was suggested by the :Mayor and it was mOTed
by Swedenburg and seoonded by Koozer that arrangements be made for hold-
ing the event in the near future.
The pipe line project was discussed and it was moved by Swedenburg
and seoonded by Blake that the City pro.eed with the projeoto Carr1edo
fhe resignation of J. H. Fuller as City Judge was read. Puller
having been appointed postmaster of the Ci ty o~ Ashland. Upon motion by
Koozer. seoon"d by H8nsen the resignation was accepted. Carried. The
)(aJar remarked that Mr. Fuller had made a very ~ine Judge and had been
an honor to the position.

Ingle and Koozer were appointed to represent the City on the 4th
of July Committee .
Hal1sen spoke on the Mission building, anc1 its sale or wrecking was
d~sousse4. Following disoussion. it was moved by Hansen an4 seoonded by
Swe4enburg that the Oi ty Attorney draw up an advertisment for the sale
or wreeking of the K1asion, all bids subject to rejeotion if desired.
Carried.
It.perts on the League of Oregon Cities Convention at Eugene last
month were macle by thoBe attending, viz Van Dyke, Hansen, Adams.
