The council,met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Prese~t: Mayor Wl.ley, Counoilmen Blake, Gregg, Hansen. Absent-
Councl.lmen.Ingle, Koozer. Swedenburg. ·
The ml.nutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read
Monthly reports of the Recorder and Water Departments and a six ·
monjhs report ending June ~Oth of the Po~ice Department were read, accept-
ed and orde:r:ed lllaced on fl.le. The monthly report of the Park Board was
placed on flleo
Applications for the following building permits were presented:
No. 15.,':20 erect new dV/elling on the South 130ulevard at an annroxim-
ate cas t of ;".-:500000 by John J. Robinson. .0; ~ ~
N~o 16. To reya;r High School Building at 1087 Iowa street at an
approxl.mate cust of ~450000 by Frank Jordan, contractor.
NO.u17. To remodel dwelling at 263 Palm .Avenue at an approximate
cost of ~350.00 by Frank Jordan. contractor.
1'10. 18. To remodel store room at 70 East Main street at an approxi-
mate cost of $250000 by 1~s. O. T. Bergner.
Committee Reports:
Finance: A balance in excess of ~)500.00 being on hand in the Cemetery
Trust Fund as of July I, 1936, it was moved by Blake and seconded by Gregg
that same be invested and the Treasurer be instructed to make this in-
vest~ent to the best interests of the City. Carried.
Water & Light: The free list for water mld light service until
December 31. 1936 was presented." Moved by Blake and seconded by Gregg
that the list be approved subject to any changes on 16 on the list who
are receiving a county pension Which inoludes an allowance for light and
water.
Biegel submi tted lists of names of delinquents" to whioh their depos-
its should be applied on their accounts totalling $44.65 and list of
active accounts to which oredits should be applied totalling $3.50 in
order to adjust for overcharges. Moved by Hansen and seconded by Blake
that the adjustments be authorized. Carried.
s8wafe Dis~osal: ~uotations for a chlor+nator having been received
by the Ci y Sup t, the best quotation being ~149l.00, it was moved by
Blake and seconded by Hansen that the City Sup't be authorized to place
an order for a chlorinator at onoe at this price. Roll call was ordered,
the vote being, Ayes:Blake, Gregg, Hansen. Nays: Hone. Carried.
Quotations on a fenoe for the Sewage Dispesal Plant for $580 for a
58 inch fence was submitted by Biegel. This price included installatio~
of same at an estimated cost of $154.00. Moved by Hansen and seconded by
Gregg that the City Sup't be authorized to purchase this fence for the
Sewage Disposal Plant. Carried.
Street:Biegel reported that the oonorete driveway near Dr. Woods
residence on North Main Street was being put in.
Realty: Hansen reported another bidder 011 the East Main st. property.
Speoial: The City .Attorney reported on the Ralph Billings adjustment
and on the hospital insuranoe investigation. He also stated that Newb~7#
& Newbury were going to start sui t in the HBBry Cair:ber cas e wi thin 10 days
On motion, the oouncil adjourned to meetvat the call of the Mayor.
