The oouncii met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen Blake, Gregg, Hansen, Koozer, Sweden-
burg. Absent: Ingle(oamcin later)
The minutes of the previous meetingl were read and approved as read.
Bil~s amounting to $7135.97 were read as to total amount only,
same hav1ng been oked by the De~artment heads, Committees and Finance
Co~ittee and upon motion by Koozer, seconded by Gregg were ordered
pa1d.
Application for Building Permit No. 19 was presented. To repair
dwelling at 172 l/Iountain Avenue at an approxiihate cost of' 0140.00 by
C. o. Presnall. l,~oved by Gregg and seconded by Bla.ke tha t the permit
be granted. Carried.
.A let ter from W. T,I. Walls, Manager of the Li thia Springs Hotel
concerning noise near the hotel at all hours of the night was read
and considerable discussioll follor:ed. It was moved by Swedenburg and

hotel be referred to tho Ci ty Attorney, Chief of Police and street~

Reports :Monthl~y re,1)orts of the Dump Ground, Ci t:Y' Judge, Electrio,
Street and Fire Departments were read, accepted and ordered placed on
file. Councilman Ingle entered and took his place at this time.
Committee Reports: Fire: Ingle stated ttlat it was necessary to pur-
chase more flre hose and-mat authorization was requested to purchase
250 feet of hose a t 80~ per foot. Upon motion by Koozert seconded by
Hansen, the purchase was approved. Roll call was ordered vdth the vote of
Ayes from Bluket Gregg, H~sen, Ingle, Koozer, Swedenburg. Nays: None.
The burning of a walnut tree belonging to Mrs. J. B~ Harrell while the
Fire Dep't was burning grass was reported and the otfer to settle the
damages for ~5.00 was made. .
Water: Gregg reported on Chas. A. Bro\vn., 319 Palm Ave, and recommend-
ed that he be placed back on the free list. Mrs. J. Few.ll~case was also
discussed. resulting in the motion by Gregg that both be plaoed back on
tre free list. Seconded by Hansen. Carried..
Realty: Hansen reported that an agent had an opportilllity to make a
sale of the East Ma n Street property for $400000 cash but that he wanted
a $50.00 oommission. The transaction was given approval by the Council.
Special: file Licensing Committee brought up a new kind of vending
machine, a derrick for merchandiset whioh the representative who tms pre-
sent explained and wanted to establish in thw City. Upon motion by Sweden-
burg, seconded by Hansen, the matter was referred to the Licensing Com-
mittee. Carrned.
Hansen mentioned the short ppace allowed for cars to park and some
discussion followed.
The matter of turning over the old water pipe from the Oak street
pipe line to the Par~ Commission was discussed and upon motion by Koozer,
seconded by Hansen, the matter was deferred to -some future time. Carried.
The Mayor reported that a man by the name of .Austin wanted to buy some of
the air port land and upon motion by Swedenburg, seconded by Haasen, the
matter was turned over to the Air Port Committee. The oondition of the
Briggs lot corner 4th and B streets was upon motion by Ingle, seconded by
Hansent ref'erred to the street Committee.

A propesed ordinance fixing salaries ,for the period from July 1
to December' 31, 1936 was read. This ordinance was the same as the pre-
v'mus salary ordinance covering the period from Jan. 1 to June 30, 1936,
There was no 4isoussion and upon motion by Koozer, seconded by
Hansen, the rules were suspended and the ordinance was passed to the
,second reading by title only. Carriedo Following the second reading
by title. it was moved by Gregg and seconded by Blake that the ordinance
be adopted as read. Roll oall was ordered on its adoption, the vote
following the second roll call was Ayes: Blake, Gregg, Ingle. Koozer,
Swedenburg. Nays: KarJ.sen. T}1e vote o'f H8D8en was unexpected as no object-
ions had been brought up by him at any time previously and no definite
gR~aa~~onsto the ordinance were m..ade wheh he was asked to state his

Mayor deolared City Ordinance Noo 962 adoptedo
Upon motion, the oouncil adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayoro
