The oouncil met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: ltayor Wiley, Councilmen Blake, Gregg, Hansen, Ingle, Koozero
Absent: Counoilman Swedenburg.
M1nutes at the previous meetings were read and approved as reado
Monthlr reports ot the Dump Ground, City Judge and Fire Department
(Aug.& Sept) were read. acoepted and ordered placed on file.
Bills amounting to 18168.5'1 were read as tOltotal amount only, same
having been oked by the departments and Fin~ce Committee and were ordered
paid.
A letter from the County Court stating that they had a boni fide
otfer of $250.00 for Lot 4 Blook 24, Ashland, Oregon was read. As the
City did not have any liens against this property, it was decided to so
advise the County Court.
The tollowing applioations for building permits were read:
No. 24. To remodel dwelling at 327 Morton street at an approximate
cost of $ZOO.OO by P. R. Hardy.
No. 25. To remodel dwelling at 255 Grant street at an approximate
cost of $300.00 by J. Q. Adams.
No. 26. To,ereet garage on Gresham street at an approximate cost ot
$176.00 by W. K. Pol.y.
No. 27. To roB8e new addition to dwelling at 197 Morton street at
an approximate cost of $900.00 by Fred Buehling.
Upon motion duly seconded, the applications were approved SUbJect
to complianoe with building regulatio~s.
The questioo of renting the Pioneer Hall to the Veteran' of Foreign
Wars was disoussed and upon motion by Hansen, seoonded by Gregg tne
matter was referred to the City Attorney am the Realty Committee to
work out an agreement with the Park Board tor the rental. Carried.
A delegation from the' Chamber of Commerce asking the Oi ty fer a
donation of $1000.00 tar advertising was present, represented by H. L.
Clayoomb as chairman who introduoed other mennb ers, consi sting of Fred
Tayler, W. D. Jackson, O. F. Carson and T. L. O'Harra who also spoke in
favor of the plan. Follwwing considerable discussion, it was moved by
Koozer and seconded Ingle that the Mayor appoint three members of the
Counoil to work out a program of advertising with the Chamber of Commerce.
Carried.
The City Attorney 8~ted that the state Banking Department wanted
another extension ot 120 days on the Li this Springs pro~erty option. on
motion by Hansen, seconded by Gregg the option was extended. Carried.
A renewal of the contract tor the lease ot the air port property to
Oscar Talent for $150.00 was oonsidered and upon motion by Hansen, seoond-
ed by Koozer, the new oontract was accepted. Carried.
Upon motion by Ingle, seoonded by Blake, the City Superintende t was
authorized to let the contraot tor the remodelling of the Ci 1;y Hall ter
the Chamber of Commerce after advert**__g for bids. Carried.
Wm Farrer, 727 Rolly street was granted free water and sewage dispos-
al upon motion by Ingle, seconded by Hansen. Csrried.
Garbage in the all.1 near 132-6th street oausing a bad odor was refe~
red to the Board of Health.
Upon motion by Koozer. seconded by Gregg, the penalty against Mrs.
Blanche Powers, 423 North Main Street was remijjed.
Upon illation by Blake, seconded by Koozer, the "I'" rate .f.r legal
advertising was set at lO~ per line, first insertion ana 5~ per line for
the seoond insertion. Carried.

On motion by Ingle, seoonded by Gregg, Sup't Biegel was plaoed on
a committee wi th the Hosp! ta 1 Staft for tia. purpose of purohasing an
autoolave.
On motion, the counoil adJourned to meet on Thursday evening, Oct.8th
