The council met in regular session at 1:30 P. M. this dateo
Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen Hansen, Ingle, Koozer, Swedenburg
Absent: Councilmen Gregg, Blake. ·
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as read.
A letter from the Bellv1ew Grange concerning the condition of the
IHHHI road from the end of the pavemEnt to th.e S. P. traoks crossing
East Main street was read and delegation present were advised that same
would be investigated and taken care of.
H. B. Carter representing the Grange, also spoke concerning the
purchase ot property for the ereotion 01' a grange hall or club house
from the City on land included in the Air Port property. On motion by
Ingle, seconded by Swedenburg, thematter was reterred to the Air Port
Committee, City Attorney and Realty Commdtte6 tor report.
A letter from G. M. Green concerning the advertising of arguments
for against the various Charter Amendments was disoussed but no action
taken.
An applioation for liquor license from Glen MoMillan operating the
Log Cabin was upon motion by Koozer, seconded by Ingle. Carried.
Applioations tor the ~ollow1ng building permits were read:
No. 27. To make new addition to dwelling at 197 Morton street at an
approximate cost of $900.00 by Fred Buahling.
No. 28. To remodel dwelling at 147 Nutlej street at an approximate
cost 01' $1000.00 by J. D. Mars.
No. 29. To erect cabin at 153 Granite street at an approximate cost
of $200.00 by AlIrs. W. M. Barber.
No. 30. To build garage and wood shed at 762 B. street at an approx-
imate cost of $150~00 by the World War Veterans state Aid Commission.
Moved by Koozer and seconded by Han.sen that 'the permits be granted
subjeot to building regulations. Carried.
In order to provide funds for the purchase of $1000.00 Ashland Aux-
illery Water Bonds, it was moved by Koozer and seconded by H~sen that the
United states Savings Bonds{Baby Bonds) reoently purchased be soldo
Carried.
Monthly reports of the Recorder, Eleatrio, street(Aug & Sept)t
Water and Library Departments were read, aa:cepted and ordered plaoed on
tile. The Park report was received and filed.
A. bill tor $70.40 from the Southern Oregon Miner tor publishing
Charter Amendments was presented and roll oall ordered for its payment.
the vote being, Ayes: Ingle, H~sen, Swedenburg, Koozer. Carried.
The Mayor announced his commi tte& to work wi th the Chamber of Commer-
ce as Koozer, Blake, Ingle.
On motion, the council adjourned to meet on Friday, Ootober 30th.
