A speoial meeting o~ the Common Council of the C.i ty of Ashland was .
called by Mayor T. S. Wiley for five o'clook on the afternoon of Thursday,
November 12, 1936.
There were present at this meeting: ~~yor Wiley, Councilmen Gregg,
Ingle, Koozer and Swedenburg. Absent: Counoilmen Blake and Hansen.
Mayor Wiley appointed Cit.y Attorney Frank J. Van/Dyke, reoorder pro
tern, in the absence of Recorder James Q. Adams and th~ Mayor announced the
purpose of the meeting was to pass an appropriate resolution concerning
the recent death of City Treasurer G. G. Eubanks.
A resolution entitled, ttResolution of oommendation and appreciation
of the public servioes of the late George G. Eubanks, City Treasurer;
extending sympathy to his relatives; and providing that such resoltuion be
made a part of the parmanent records of the City of Ashlandtt was read by
the City Attorney. It was moved by Koozer and seconded by Swedenburg that
the resolution be passed to second reading by title only. The motion was
unanimously carried. The resolution was then read by title only, and its
adoption as read was moved by Ingle and seoonded by Gregg. Roll Dall was
ordered and those voting in favor of the adoption of the resolution as
read were; Gregg, Ingle, Koozer and SweCLenburg. Those voting "Naytt were
none. The resolution which was adopted is as follows: (Text of Res.)
The City Attorney was instructed to arrange for an appropriate floral
remembrance to be sent from the City of Ashland to Mr. Eubanks funeral
and was also directed to arrange for the Common Council to a.ttend the
services in a body. It was decided that all oity o~fioes should be closed
during the hour of the funeral.
The Council thereupon adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
