The minutes o~ the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
- Monthly reports of the Dump Ground and annual reports of the Electrio,
Street and Water Department.s were read, aocepted and ordered placed on file
~ Rills amounting to $14,787.28 were read as to total amount only, sanie
o ~, having been OKted by the various department heads and the Finance Uommittee
and upon motion by Koozer, seconded by Swedenburg and a unanimous roll
call were ordered 'paid.
There was some discussion on the payment of groceries for relief oases
brought up by Koozer and resulted in a motion by him seconded by Apple-
white that an indigent relief committee be appointed by the Mayor to study
the situation. Carried. The Mayor made his appointment as follows: Apple-

Howard Black, commander of the V.F.W. was present and asked the counct

Qussion. it was moved by Swedenburg that the City grant the V.F.W. free

Committee Reports:
Realtl: Ingle reported that. additional labora~ory equipment was ne-
eessary at the hos~italJ the cost of which was $43.50. Upon. motion by
KOQ.zer seconded by Blake tlle matter was re:t'erl.ed to the hospi tal oommi ttee
with power to act. Carried.
The :proltosed. Ordinance naming the Boulevard, the Siskiyou Boul1evard
whioh had been read the.., fil~St time at the January 19th meeting was read
the second time b~l ti tle only. 1Ioved by Koozer and seconded by Hansen that
the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption,
the vote being, Ases: Blake, Ingle, Swedenburg. Hansen, Koozer. Applewhite"
Ha.ys: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared ca ty Qrdinance No. 969 adopt-ed.
Swedenburg spoke at length on the construction of the new State Capitt,
01 building and deploring the action of the aapito1 Building aommission iIP
using eastern marble in place of Qregon grani te and urged that something ~
be done about i t in an effort to so arouse public opinion that the Q.om-
~~ mission would re-oansider the matter of using out of state building mater~
~LaJ.8.
Roy Hughes was .present and the question of his employment at the power
plant was disaussed again and referred to the Eleotric Committee.
On motion, the aounoil adjourned to meet at the aall o"f the Mayor.
