The Council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date. Present;
Mayor Wiley, Gounailmen Applewhite, Blake, Hansen, Koozer, Swedenburg,
Absent; aouncilman Ingle.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read,
Bills amounting to $8811.02 were read as to total amount only, same
having been OK'ed by the various departments, committees and finance Com-
mittee and upon motion made and seconded and followed by a unanimous roll
call were ordered paid.
The following applications for building pe rmi tswere presented:
No. 3 To remodel the First National Bank at 76 East ~~in Street at an
approximate cost of $1000.00 by Frank Jordan, contractor.
No. 4 ~a erect brooder house at 435 Walker Avenue at an approximate cost
o-:f '125.00 by Mrs. 11. E. Webster. .
Moved by Swedenburg and seconded by Blake that the applications be
approved. Oarried.
A report from G. M. Frost, former aemetery Superintendent, covering
his entire period ot: servioe with the City of Ashland was read and a9cept-
ed and ordered placed on file.
Committee Reports:
street: Koozer reported on the flood water from Fork Street to the
Park. making recommendations thereon and estimated the cost of material at
~247 .50 for improving t.tlis condi tion. Following some' discussion, it was
moved by Koozer and seoonded by Swedenburg that the oity buy the material
providing the Park Commission furnish the labor thru the WPA and also main-
tain same thru the Park. Roll call was ordered on the motion, the vote be-
ing, Ayes: Blake, Sweden burg , Iransen, Koozer, Applewhite. Nays: None. Carr-
ied.
Realty: Hansen reported that he had received an offer of iP100.OO for
the old fire station on Fourth Street. Following discussion, it was deoided
to accept an offer of ~l50.00.
Special: A proposed contract for an elevator at the hospital from the
Southern Oregon Elevator Company was read and discussed and finally referr-
ed to the Realty Committee for investigation.
Glen Simpson of the Simpson Hardware discussed plans for a heating
plant for the City Hall, showing plans and specifioations and considerable
discussion followed, but no definite action taken.
Plans for attending the annual meeting of the Leab"Ue of Oregon 01 ties
on March 18th were discussed e~d delegates to represent the City selected.
On motion the council adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
