Applioations for the to llo wing building permits were presented:
No.8. To erect new garage and woodshed at 90-6th street at an
approximate cost of $100000 by W. H. Parker.
No.9. fo erect garage at 305 Morton street at an approximate
cost o~ ~150000 by L. Nee1ey.
Moved by Ingle ahl seconded by Blake that the parmi ts be gaanted
subJeot to building regulations. Carried. .
P. R. Hardy, representing the advertising committee of th. Ash-
land Chamber of Commeroe was present and addressed the oounoil on the
plans .ot thll Chamber of Commeroe in making Ashland a reoreational oent~.
lte suggested im;provements in the Lithia Auto Camp which at the present
time were not so good, in orde.r to invi te tourists to spend their vac-
a tions here and provide them wi th up-to-da t e ao o omo da tions. He s ta. ted
that the unexpired lease ot the Kissingers t could be purohased tor about
$3200.00 and that improvemen ts in modernizing six ot the cabins would
bB1ngthe oost up to about 15.000.00 which the Par~ ~Board did not have.

for this purpose. Lais Dodge stated that the oamp had grossed about
$6..000.00 last year. Following oonsiderable disoussion it was moved by
Koozer and seoonded by Ingle the. t the mtter of fi~Uoing be referred
to the Finanoe Committee and Oi ty Attorney to work bRt wi ththe park

reoommended, it was mobed by Applewhite and seoonded by.Koozer that
the request8 be granted. Carried.
The City Attorney reported on the oontraot tor the Polioe Alarm
\ ~818tem w1ththe Paoifio Tel. & Tel Co. and read, a resolution acoepting
',-- tho oontraQt dated April 21. 1937. Moved by Swedenburg and seoonded by
Koozer that the rules be suspendad and the resolution be 'passed to the
second reading by title only. Following the seoond reading, it was mo~ed
by Ingle and seoonded by Hansen that the resolution be adoptedo Roll oall
was ordered on its adojt1on, the vote being, Ayes: Applewhite, Blake.
Ran. en. Ingle, Koozer. Swedenburg. .Nays: None. Thereupon the Mayor
deolared the resolution adopted.
Uponmot1on the counoil adjourned to meet at 7:30 P. M. on April
26th.
