The Counoil met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen Applewhi te, Blake, Hansen, Ingle.
Absent: Councilmen Koozer, Swedenburg.
!he minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as

Upon motion by Ingle the minutes of May 4th were corrected to

Angus Bo~er of the Southern Oregon Normal So~ool faoulty was
'present and the Mayer asked him to address the oounoil. Mr Bowmer spoke
on the Elizabethian Theatre requesting additional facilities such as
lava:bories. eto, which lIr. Biegel had estimated would cost about $150.00
to 1175.00. Following some discussion, it was moved by Ingle and second-
ed by Applewhite that the work be appro_a and that the cost be piid out
ot the advertising fund which had been budgeted for by the Electrio Dep 't.

Mrs. Freeman was present and addressed the oounoil and asked for a
new eleotrio meter on her tront porch. The DB tter was referred to the
Electric Superintendent.
:Monthly re.ports of the Dump Ground, the City Judge for llay and June,
and the Cemetery Department for Maroh, April and May were read, acoepted
and ordered plaoed on :file.
Billa amounting to $10.679.26 wera read as to"jtotal amount only.end
with the exceptionllof $17.66 for sprinklers and $2."0 additional pay for

A sewer system being desired by a property owner on Strawberry Lane
it was moved by Applewhite ~ddseconded Ingle that the sewer be installed.

The City Attorney reported on a recent meeting whioh the :Mayor and he
had attended w:lththe Talent Irrigation Distriot.
The semi-annual report of the Chief ot Police and a J.etter from him
recommending ~e appointment of L. I. Moon as City Patrolman was reado
fhe :Mayor stated he would like to appoint Mr. Moon and upon motion by
Ingle. seconded by AppleWhite. th. appointment was confirme4. Carried.
Another l.etter from the Chief of Polioe conoerning salaries was read anI.
the matter of salaries for \he next six months was reterre4 to the Finance
Committee for report. lioense
Upon motion by Blake, seconded by Ingle the applioa'ion tor a liquor/
for the Li th1a Hotel Cate was approved.
The City Reoorder was instructad to adrtse the County Court that the
Oi t1 ot Ashl811d was not inter est ad in Lot 14 o:C ),fa tl.ews Addition of the
City of Ashland.
Ramsey Benson haying requested that the Fire Craoker Ordinanoe be
refvred to the people. it was moved by Ramen and seconded by Appl.ewhite
that the question be referred to 'the people at the first opportunity.
