The council met in regular session at 7: 30 P. M. this de:te. Present: Mayor Wiley,
Councilmen Applewhite.. Blake" Crandall.. Hansen" Ingle, Koozer. Absent: Bone.
The minutes of the previous moetin6 were read and approved as read.
Reports for December and the yea:" 1937 from the Electric" Water and Street Depart-

mentand the December report of the Recorder were read, accepted and ordered placed on
file.
The following applieations tor building permits were received:
No. lo To remodel dwelling at 141 High Street at an approximate cost of $250.00
by Tom C. Bell.
No. 20 To raise and put in founda:t;ion and remodel dwelling at 508 North Main street
at an approximate cost of $IOO.OO by L. H. Laurent.
It was moited and seconded tr~t tre permits be gr&&ted. Carried.
Time for tr~ opening of bids for a pick-up truck for the Water Department having
arrived, the bids were read and were as follows:

Follwong considerable dis~ugsion regarding hhes8 quotations, it was moved by
Blake and seconded by Hansen that the bids be referred to the Water De~)U"tm.en't for
a report. Carried.
Application for a liquor license from S, H. Shert was presented. It was moved by
Ingle and seconded by Koozer that the application be approve4. Carried.
Committee Reports:
Electric: Crandall suggested insurance forthe power plant, which was discussed.
but no action taken.
Fire: Hansen re~rted progress in the investigation of fire engines.
R:eaIty, Van Dyke reported on the Briggs property on the corner of "B" and 4th
streets, stating that there was $958.62 taxes against the property. Following some
discussion, it was moved by Ingle and seconded by Crandall that the City allow Briggs
$50.00 oredit on his billowing the City when he pays His bill. The $50.00 being a claim
of Briggs for legal services agai. Bst the Oi t;l at the time of the he~ ing of the Recorder
