The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
The monthly report of' the Dump Ground was read~ aoo epted and ordered plaoed on
iile.
Monthly bills amounting to $9,449.61 were read as to total amount only~ lame haV'-
1ng been approved by the various department heads, oommi ttee heads ani f'inanoe committee
and upon motion by Koozer~ seoonded by Crandall and f'ollowed by 8. unan1lWus roll call
were ordered paid.
Applioation for the rollo~ng building.permit was presented;
No. 1'0 To erect new ohioken house at 922 Siskiyou Boulevard at an approxima:te
cost of $250.00 by Mrs. Cad Ellis.
Upon motion by Hansen, seoonded by Koozer, the permit was granted subjeot to build-

A petition signed by 49 property owners inftttft Yiew protesting against the
stenoh coming from "the City Dump Gromld was presented by George Irwin as spokesman.
The City Attorney and City Health Officer both spoke on the subject as well as other
residents from Bellview and fellowinga thorough disoussion. it was moved by Kooser and
seoonded by Hansen that the Mayor appoint the Sanitary Committee as a speoial oommi ttee
to investigate the oondi tion ot the Dump Ground ani report baok. Carried.
Dr. Harvey Woods~ City Health Offioer made his report on the CoggiIis Mill. He
.tated that he fOtmd tile mill pond was a breeding place for mosquitos and the toilets
were obsQlete. He reoommended the sanitary toilets be built and that oil be poured on
the mill pond at .frequent intervals to kill the misqui 1;0 larvae.
The City Attorney reported that he had written the state Labor Commissioner and
that he expeoted to be here to-morrow for his tnvestigation.
A. G. Livingstone also spoke turtl:er on the Coggin's Mill an:l asked tha.t tlB City
put a street thru bdJ*een his property end Coggin's in order- to reduoe the fire hasard
and reduce his insurance rates. Upon motion by Hansen, seoonded by Koozer the matter
was reterred to the Street Committee for inves tigation and report. Carried.
The sale of the old LaFrance Fire Truck to the Town ot Talent for $400.00 was
disoussed briefly and it was moved by Koozer and: seoonded by Crandall that the Ci 1;y ot
Ashland aooept the bid of' the To'Wll of Talent and the City Reoorder instructed to write
them. aocordingly, tIe truok to be "as is ". Roll oall was ordered on 'thB motion~ tre
vote being, Ayes. Blake, Crandall~ Hans en, Koozer, Applewhite. Nays: None. Carried.
