The Council met in regular session. at "I, 30 P. M. this~ date. Present: Council...
men Applewhite, Crandall, Hansen. Absent: Mayor Wiley, CO\mcilmen Blake. Ingle, Koozer.
A quorum not being present, it was decided to adjourn andmeet at the Ingle Drug store
where COtU1.cilman Ingle would be able to attendo This was done and the oouncil re-con-

utes and the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
A proposed resolution amending the Charter to inorease thetax levy for park pur-
pomes trom two to 1:;wo and one .half mills was read and Louis Dodge, President of the
Park Commission spoke concerning the need for this inorease. It was moved by Ingle
and seoonded by Applewhite that therules be suspended andthe resolution be passed to
the second reading by title only. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved
by Applewhite endseeonded by Ingle that the resolution be adopted as read. Roll call
was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, Ayes : Applewhite" Crandall, Hansen, Ingle.
Nays: None. Thereupon the resolution was deolared adopted.
Two other petitions were read. One to abolisJ). the Park Commission andthe other to
revert baok to the original ehart.er requiring the election of councilmen 'rom war ds
eVGI7. two years. Both petitions coming in so late. making it impossible for the City
Attomey -to prepare them' in resolution form.. it was moved by Crandall and seconded by
Ingle that they be la.id on the ;able. Carriedo
G. H. ~enner spoke conoerning the Shasta-Cascade-Wonderland Assooiation md re-
ported that the county had offered i;o pay $100 .00 towards the expenses of the meeting
and asked that the ci1;y contribute $100.00. No action was taken at the time and the
ootmoil adjoturned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
