The COlmcil met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date. Present: Mayor Wiley..
Councilmen Applewhi te. Daugherty. Koozer. Putman. Redford. Selby. Absent: None.
The minutes of tle previous meeting were read and approved as rea.d.
The monthly reports of the El ectric. Street and Water Departments and the C1 ty
Recorder were read. accepted and ordered placed on file.
The following applications for builiing permits were presentedc
No. 12: To remodel and repair dwelling at 267 .C. Street at an approximate cost
of $175.00 by Earl G. Baird.
No. 13: To remoiel and repair <<Welling at 427 Palm Avenue at an approximate ooat
of .250000 by Walter Redford.
No. 14: To erect dwelling getween 266 and 268 -B. Street at aa approximate cost
of .1.000.00 by W. F. Hollingsworth.
Ho. 15: To erect double garage on Granite Street off ot North Main Street at an

It was moved by Koozer and seconded by Daugherty that the pem!ts beJ granted.

A letter from Mrs. W. M. Barber concerning garbage collection was referred to
the City Attorney.
Committee Reports:
Electric: Selby reported a meeting being held during which a sub-station ....s
discussed, the approximate cost being $18.000.00. Following some disoussion. it was
moved by Selby and seoonded by Redford that the order be plaoed tor the aub-a'tatioa.

Street: Daugherty reported that 80.. ..e wanted to plaoe a aip. OD East )(ain Street
near the Snider Coffee Shop pointing to the Christian Churoh.

The blanket Insurance policy of Engle & Tho.... am.olmting W ..282.5-i was approvec1
and bill authorized to be paid upon motion by Koozer.. seconded by Daugherty and Carriedc
Upon motion by Redtord seoonded by Koezer the investigation ot all salaries ot
similar ofticss and work in Oregon cities ot comparative size was authorized.
The Kayor appointed to this oommittee the following: Redford, Briggs. Selby.
The Salary of the Oi ty Attoraey was raised from. .98.00 to 1100 per lI.OD.th and the
sa1&17 of the City Treasurer from. .57.00 to .60.00 per month effective Karch 1. 194:4.
upon motion by Applewhite, seconded bY Daugherty and carried.
The proposed 8alary ordinance 1I'8.S read with. the above changes and it was moved by
App1ewhi te and seoonded by Daugherty that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be
passed to the seoond reading by title only. Carried. Follwwing the aecond :reading.
