The COUJlcil met iJt regular session at 7.30 P.M. this date. Preseata Kayar
Wiley, Counoilmell Applewhite, Daugherty, Xeozer, Putman. Redford, and Selby.

The Recorder beiDg absent the :Mayor appoillted Biegel to act as Recorder for
the meeting.
The mon-thly report ot the Eleotric, Water and street Departments were read,
aooepted and plaoed on file.
!he following applioations for building permits nre presented.
No. 211 To remodel dwelling at 363 Avery Street at an approximate cost or
$2.000.00 by P. E. Ayers.
No. 22: To erect dwelling on Lots 6 and 7 on FourthStreei; at an approximate
cost of $2,000.00 by P. E. ~ers.
No. 23. To erect dwelling on the corner of Lee and Wightman Streets at an
approximate cost ot $600.00 by Martha Norberg.
No. 24. To move building on lot in rear at 93 N. Main Street tor garage and
tumigating plant. at an approximate cost of .200.00 by Geo. S. Reed.
After considerable discussion it was moved by Koozer and seconded by Redford
. that permits No. 21, 22, and 23 bp approved, Permit No. 24 be rejeoted. Carriedo
A let"ter from the Southern Pacific in regard to speed of train at Railroad
Crossing was read and referred to 1;he City Attorney.
A tax bill trom the County was referred to the City Superintendent and City
Attorney for investigation.
Committee Re~orts.
Street: Biegel reported that street sweepers were being released by the
gO'9'ernment on priority and was instructed to prepare the neoessary torm. tor pur-
ohase of same, the price be ing $4260.00 It was moved by Koozer and aeconded by
Applewhite that the sweeper be purohased. I't was unanimously oarried.
Cemeter,yl Biegel- reported that the C.meto~ Department-could not raise enough
money to carry on its operation in the year 1944-1945 unless . some money from the
sa1. ot 101;8 was tuned il1to the operating expenses. After some discussion a
proposed ordinanoe setting over the monies was read. It Was moved by Koozer and
seconded by Daugherty that the rule. be sU8pended and the ordinanoe .. passed to
"coad reading by title only. Carried. Following the s8cond reading it was moved
by A.pplewhi te and seconded by Putman that the ordinance be adopted as read.
Following unanimous roll call the Mayor declared Ordinance No. 104;0 adopted.
The Reoorder and City Superintendent were instruoted to have the budget
prepared for the next oOlmail meeting.
!he Mayor submitted the name of Mr. I.A. Mirick to be appointed Band Mas'ter.
It WaS moved by Daugherty and seconded by Redford that the appointment be confirmed.
Carried unanimously.
