The Council met in regular session at 7.30 P. M. this date. Presents Mayor Wiley.
Counoilmen Applewhite, Daugherty, Koozer. Putman, Redford. Selby. Absents None
The minutes of 'the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Bills amounting to $9888.61 were read as to total amount only, same having been
oked by the various departments. collll1ittees and finance eommit-tee and upon motion by
Daugherty, seconded by Redford were ordered paid.
The Talent Water ai~Uation was discussed.
The monthly report or the City Recorder for the month of July was read. accepted

The following application for a building permit _8 lli'~\l~'SlHi:
No. 49: To erect dwelling on Oberlin Street at an approxilnate cost of $1.000.00 by
L. J. Iverson.
It was moved by Daugherty and seoonded by Redford that the permit be granted.Carried
The monthly report of' the City Judge for the month of August was read, aocepted and
ordered plaeed on tileo
Committee Reports:
Street: Biegel reported on the Jansen Lumber Co. 'tunnel. stating the. t there was 8.
difference in elevation between the two ponds and that it would Gause a raise of 5 teet
in elevation in the highway. but would not have any bad effects.
Dry-Ioe: The sate of app roximately four acres of land at the Li this Springs property
to 'the Gas-Ioe Corporat ion for the purpose of erecting a dry-ice plan't W8. s approved and
the price set at $100.00 for the tract upon motion by Koozer, seconded by Putman and
earried.
Mr. and Mrs. Lu"thet: E. Stone. Mrs. Elmer Riley and Mrs. Rykken. all living in the
vicinity of the J. H. LRoas property on Mountain Avenue were present and Mr. Stone a8
spokesman protested the howling of the dogs on the Lucas place. The report ot -the Police
made on August 19th was read. Considerable discussion followed and the matter 1f8.S refer-
red to the Police for further investigation and report.
On motion, the Counoil adjourned 'to meet at the call of the Mayors
