The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Monthly report of the City Judge for September was read. aooepted and ordered
plaoed on file.
Bills amounting to $10,476.02 were read as to total al1lcnmt only. same having been
oked by the various departments. committees and finanoe oommittee and upon motion by
Applewhite. seconded by Selby were ordered paid.
The applioation of Mr. Seitz, operator of the Leg Cabin, for an endorsement on hi.
request to the Sta t8 Liquor Control Commission for a lioense was approved upon mo"tion
by Selby. seconded by Applewhite and oarried.
A letter from the Sea"ttle Trust and Savings Bani: conoerning an assignment of' the
lease be1;nen the C1 ty and the Gas-Ice Corporation was read. . ,
A letter from the Chief of Police conoerning the unsanitary and ril thY condi t10n8
on "the premises occupied by Mrs ~ Alioe stewart" at 1257 Si skiyou 13o'Ulevard Wa s read.
Mrs. stewart had been arrested previously on April 18. 1944 for a similar oondition of
her premises. Daugher-ty. as a member of the Board. of Health, - told of- a visit the Board
had made recently and reoited in detail the terribly filthy conditions whioh had been
found there. Following considerab1edisoussion. . it was moved - by Daugherty. aDd." seoonded
by Selby that the matter be declared a nuisanoeandthe strongest measures possible
taken to have the filthy oonditions oorreoted immediately. The City Attorney to notify
her by letter. Carried. - . ,,, ,-
Another letter from "the Chief ot-Polioe conceri:dngthe Luoas dog inves"tiga tion
showed numerous checks made at various hours on September 16, 20, 23. 25, ana 26th. In
praotically every instance, no barking was heard, but in a few case,s there was more or
less barking.

Streets Biegel reported that~e street sweeper would be shipped soon.
A lett.er from the Publio Ulil;t$.es Commissioner of Oregon conoerning the need for
the erecting of stop signs at various hazardous points in theCi ty as determined by a d,
survey made on June 30, 1944~ Co-operation of the City in the eree'tion of these signs
and the enforcement of steip signs provisions was asked".
