Present: Mayor WileY6 Councilmen Applewhite" Daugherty" Putman" Redford" Selby. Absents Council- man Koozer. The minutes of: the previous meet~ng were read and approved as read. . The monthly repprt of the City Juage for November. 1144. was read. accepted and orderedcplaced on file. Bills amounting to $10,,659.93 were read as to total amiunt only. same having been oked by the various departments. committees and finance committee and were ordered paid. The following application for a building permit was presented: No. 61: To ereot garage at 119 Granite Street at an approximate cost of $200000 by I. R. Frideger. It was moved by Selby and seconded by Daugherty that the permi t be granted. Carried. The following requests for endmrsements on applications for lioenses to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission were presented: Bohemian Club. 'M., ~. Kaegi. Nininger's Drive In Market. Log Cabin. A. E. Jordan and Elk's Club. It was moved" seconded and carried that the requests be granted. Committee Reports~ Electric& The City Superintendent was authorized to place an order for $1,,200.00 worth of poles upon motion by Daugherty" seoonded by Putman and carried. Waters The purchasing of water level indicators to be installed at the Crowson Hill a~iower reservoirs for $700.00 was approved upon motion by Applewhite" seoonded by Putman and carried. Air Port: The City Sup't reported that a representative from the Civil Aero.- nautics Authority. Seattle. jad been here looking over proposed sites tor an air port. ~ealty. The possibility of selling part of the Ash1~d.Golt Course which was not used tor golt was discussed and referred to the Realty Commi ~ee tor inves t1gation/ pry-Ice: The dry-ica plant ot the Gas-Ice Corporation at the Lithia. Springs property wa s reported to be getting along in good shape. The roof of the building hav- ing been oompleted" some of the equipment received and the rest on the way. It was thought that the plant would be in openfion about Feb. 1st.. The purohase and payment in full of the R. D. Reynolds contract for the purchase of 16 acres of air port land by John E. Robert brougltt up the question of the transfer of s1;ock in the Bellview Co-operative Water Association belonging to the City of Ashland to Robert. The Ci~ owning two shares. one on the air port and one on the old city dump ground" the question arose as to whom tftestock should be transfered. since both the old dump grotmd and the lrobert purchase were without stock and to legally reoeive water from the Bellview Co-operative Water Ass In. it was neoessary to be a stockholder. The Loren James contraot for the purchase of another pieoe of Air port property" when completed would require another share of stooke Upon mo1;ion by Applewhite" seconded by Daugherty" the matter was referred to the Water Committee to investigate and decide to whom these 'two shares should eventually be transfered. Carried. Upon mo1;ion by Daugherty" aeconded by Selby" the placing ot an order for a steam ahovel tor about $9,,000.00 was authorized. Carried.
