The minutes of' 'the previous meeting were .read and approved a s read.
The monthly reports of the Eleotrio, street and Water Depart-ments, City Judge
and 01 ty Recca~d.er were read~ accepted and ordered placed on file.
Bills amounting to $11,399.02 were read as to total u.iullt only, same having
been oked by the various departments, oommittees a.nd finance oommittee and were ordered
paid.

A petition signed by Mr. & Mrs. Einil B. Kroeger. Abbie M. Hanel~ end E. W.
Chapuan asking permission to close the drive way DOW crossing on the south ten teet
of Lots l~ 2. 3. and 4 of Valley View Addition, _s presented. It was moved by Selby
and seconded by Daugherty that the matter be referred to the Street Committee. City
Sup't and City Attorney to investigate and report.
A letter from G. H. Billings asking for temporary offioe spaoe in the City
Reoorder's Office during the time the Plaza corner was being cut otf. 1II8.S denied~
same being aga inst the policy of the 01 ty to rent to private parties.

Adjutant spoke in oonneoti. on with mring the City offer a site for the proposed new
Veteran's Hospital. Considerable disoussion followed, resulting in a motion by Merrill
seconded by Redford that the Council go on record as favoring the offering of a site
for a Veteran's Hospital. Carried. The ~~yor appointed the fo lIming as a comni ttee
-to work with 'the Legion on the matter; City Attorney, Weitzel and Redford.
G. M. Green, Chairu.e.n of the Ashland Planning Conmission, made a report and ex-
pressed his views on the proposed truck roote and. the cutting through of "C" Street.
.After disous sion~ it was moved by Weitzel am seconded by Pu~n that the Council
go on record as favoring the "e" Street out-off ple.n, and following a unanimous
roll oall.. the motion was oarried. It was also moved by Redford and seconded by
Weitzel that a re-survey and re-design of 'the Plaza project be made with the least
practioal delay. Carried.
Water: The l;ity Superintendent read two reports on the water supply problm.
The first report dated September 17th consisted of conclusions and reoommendations
made after the studying t he reports of D. C. Henny. Consultant Engineer. who made
reports in 1920 and 1927 on the Ashland Water supply.
The second report ds.ted Septsnber 30th was made following a trip made by the
Ci ty Superintendent and Water Superintendent back of Mount Ashland and s hawed their
findings and ~ecommendati ons.

water rights was referred to the Water Commi. ttee and Oi ty Attorney. Carried.
