The Council met in regular sessie at 7:30 P. M. this date. Presents Kayor Wiley.
COlmcilmen Putman. Redford. Selby, Weitlel. Absent, Councilmen Daugherty. Kerrill.
The minutes at the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
lIonthly reports ot tile Electric, Street and Water Departments and City Recorder
were read, accepted and ordered plaoed on tile.
Following the Reoorder's Report, the investment ot Cemetery trust tunds in Govern-
ment bonds was approved upon motion by Selby. seconded by Redford and carried.
!he following applications for building permits were presented.
Boo 9$: To remodel and repaid dwelling at 469 Siskiyou Boulevard at an approximate
Gost of $1,600.00 by Stephen J. Zarka.
!io. 94. To erect dwelling on Wigh1man Street at an approximate cost of $3,500.00
by Phil Il. Garren.
No. 95: To remodel and repair dwelling at 319 lite. Avenue at an approximate cost ot
$250".00 by Eric H. Weren.

Applications for renewal of licenses by H. G. Travis and the Bohemiem Club were
approved upon motion by Selby. seconded by Weitzel and oarried.
.An otter of .2250.00 tor the tire station lot was received, but bo action taken,
and none contemplated since tile site was being considered as a possible post office site.
It was suggested that L. J. Knox, C. P. A. . who made the last audit be invited to
oome aIId tell the Counoil conoerning the audit or answer any questions pertaining to it.
A new tire engine was talked about to replaoe 'the old one which had been in use
many years.
Committee Reports:
X Rea~ tyl Briggs reported that he had seom-ed options on -the Powell and Killer proper-
tiea to e purchased at $3,000 and $2,500 respectively. These properties being on First
street just below the fire station lot.
A lease ot property belonging to the City ot Ashland and .looated inn Bellview to
Arthur M. Peters for a period ot ten yeer 8 tor sawmill purpos~s was read by the City
Attorney ewd upon motion by Selby.. seoonded by Wei tIel, the lease was approved aDd 'the
Kayor and City ReoordfJr authoriled to sign same in the nameof the City 01' Ashland.
Carried.
