Present: Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen Daugherty, Fischborn~, Merrill~ NosIer, Redford, Weitzel. Absent: None The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Monthly reports of the Electric, Street and Water Departments and Ci~J Recorder were read, accepted and ordered placed on file. A financial repprt covering the Conrm.unity Hospital for the period ending May 31, 1947 and a progress report forfue period from February 10, 1947 to June 17, 1947 was read by Bob Lugar, Adminsitrator and same was accepted and ordered placed on file. The hour having arrived for the hearings on proposed pavings and sewers at various parts of the City, the meeting was opened for objections on the part of those ooncerned. G. M. Frost asked concerning the East end of Vista Street, wanting the island rerooverl and sta.ting that he wanted the paving if the curb and gutter were also put ino !vIrso Willard on Church street talked about the oil and gran! te pavement and called it "miserable" in some sections and wanted to know if the City would maintain it after it was put ino The City Attorney stated that the City would maintain it at its own .x.... pense after it was once pavedo Mrs. Ma.pes said that all of t.l1.e owners of property on Walnut Street were opposed to the oil pavement except the Mayor and filed a petition signed by the property ownerso Mrso Mapes also sta~ed that she had paid $226.00 for a sewer on Grant Street. but had no house on the property and had no use for the sewero It was moved by Fischborn and 'seconded by NosIer that Mrs. Mapes be refunded the amount she had paid forthe sewer. Carriedo .Lawrence Coder and a :man livip.g on the Freeman place on Oberlin Street objected to the sewer. Coder stating that he did not own the property for which he had been assessed. A rather lengthy discussi9n followed. Frank Jo Van Dyke spoke for the Park-O-Meter parking meters, poinjing out many of their valuable features and reporting that they were used in Washington~ D. All improvements on which the hearing had been he~. were ordered in except the pavement on Walnut Street. Building permits numbered from 88-to 93 inclusive were approved unanimously. Total of perrlits, #13.700.00 It was moved by Fischborn and seconded by Merrill that the Park..o-Meter represent- ative be notified to meet with the oouncil with reference to a contract. Carried.
