HomeMy WebLinkAbout1703 Limit Parking of Abandoned Cars I ( l L...-~_ f// () ~ uJl C/ ./ 1 ! f' "'. .,.,~~~ ORDINANCE NO. /~~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 1394, WHICH PERTAINED TO WRECKED, JUNKED, DISMANTLED AND ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES, TO LIMIT THE PARKING OF DISMANTLED AND INOPERABLE VEHICLES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: -'1 , ~ J.>; SECTION 1. ,~.:. 1A ~r394 aLnew section which shall be number 14, and which shall read as :Jf. ....- /fbllow!?: '&/ ~ I There is hereby added to Ashland Ordinance Number "SECTION 14. It shall be unlawful for any person to park 1'-' 3~r to permit to remain a motor vehicle that is dismantled or Z Opartially dismantled or in an inoperable condition on the 0~PUbliC streets of the City of Ashland for more than seventy- J~two (72) hours in any ten (10) day period. The fact that ~~SUCh motor vehicle has been moved from one location on a f '. public street in the City of Ashland to another location on the same or different public street in the City of Ashland shall not be a defense to a prosecution under this Ordinance. It shall be rebuttably presumed that the registered owner of a motor vehicle which is parked or permitted to remain in violation of the provisions of this section was parked or . permitted to remain on the public streets by the registered owner of such motor vehicle." SECTION 2. That inasmuch as it is deemed necessary for the public health, peace and safety of the citizens of the City of Ashland, that the provisions shall be made immediately operative, it is hereby declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor. The foregoing Ordinance was first read at a regular meeting of the Common Council held on the 26th day of October, 1971, and passed on its second reading and duly passed on the~;/J/day of November, 1971, the vote .5 being as follows: Dated this~day Ayes: Nays: o ATTES~~~ CITY RECORDER of November, 1971.
