REPORT TO THE COMMON COUNCIL
by
ASHLAND PLANNING COMMISSION
At the Planning Commission meeting on July 12, 195~, by a vote
of 3 to 1 the fOllowing motion was passed:
ttThat the Pla!1...ning Commission does oppose future
expansion of the City limits until the local property
within the City is more effectively utilized and the
water supply and the sewage facilities are expanded
to more adequately service those within the City and
any proposed property to be annexed.tl
It is the desire of the Planning Commission that the Common
Council either approve or disapprove such policy in order that the
Planning Commission may know the policy of the Common Council when
considering any annexations.
There was referred to the Planning Commission by the Council
a recommendation as to the advisability of ordering paving and
guttering of presently uncompleted portions of the following
streets: Peachy Road, Iowa Street, ItCtt Street, Sixth Street,
Bridge Street and Lee Street. After considerable discussion,
it was unanimously passed that the Commission recommend the
paving and guttering of any unimproved portions of said streets
except that no work be ordered upon Peachy Road and Lee Street.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjou~ned.
