Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Blake, Koozer. Absent: Councilmen Crandall, Haml'en, Ingle The purpose of: the meeting was to hear any objections if: eny against the budget f:or the year 1938. There being no one present to object to the budget, the proposed ordinanoe levying a tax f:or the year 1938 in tre sum of: $48,824.00 was read and upon motion by Blake, seconded by Applewhite, the rules were suspended andtho ordinance passed to the seoond reading bybtitle only. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved by Koozer and seoonded by Applewhite that the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, Ayes: Blake, Koozer, Applewhite. Nays: None Thereupon the Mayor declared City Ofdinanoe No. 972 adopted. I A proposed ordinance requiring the Recorder of: the City of: Ashland to noti.f'y the I County Assessor and County Clerk of: Jackson County of: all delinquent Speoial Benei:it Assessments was read andupon motion by Koozer, seconded by Applewhite, tre rules were suspended and the ordinance Passed to the secondcreading by title only. Carried. Follow- ing the second reading by ti-l:le, i1; WllS moved by Blake andseconded by Applewhite that the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being Ayes: Blake, Koozer, Applewhite. Nays: None. Thereupon tre Mayor declared City Ordinahce No. 973 adopted. The f:ollowing application f:or a building permit was presented: No. 30. To erect a new auto court on the Boulevard between Palm Ave, andGari:ield ..-.. streett at an approxims:te cost of: $7500.00 by V. L. Jean. It was moved by Koozer and seoonded by Applewhite tha.* the permit be granted. Carried. A proposed resolution authorizmng the construction of: Sewer Distriot No. 39 was read and upon motion by Applewhitei' seconded by Koozer, the rules were suspended and the resolution passed to the second reading by title only. Carried. Following the second reading, it ms moved by Koozer andseconded by Blake that the resolution br adopted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, Ayes: Blake, Koozer, Apple- white. Nays: None. Thereupon the Mayor deolared the resolution adopted.
