The CoUncil met In regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date. Present:
Mayor Wiley. Councilmen Fischborn, Merrill, Nosler, Redford, Weitzel. Ab-
sent: Councilman Daugherty.
T~e minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Monthly reports of the Electric, Street and Water Departments and
_~ City Recorder were read, accepted and ordered placed on file.
I 7~ A letter from the Ashland Public Library Board requesting that the
~ ~ity Council grant an additional $1,000.00 for the Library Book fund and
, --/'tdnother letter inviting the Mayor and members of the City Council to attend;
. 'c' one of their meetings was read. Some conside~ion was given to their re- I
quest and attendance at their meeting was indicated. I
Building permit a numbered from 141 to 146 inclusive were approved I
' upon motion made, seconded abd carrled. Total of permlts, $29,070.00
The Treasurer was Instructed to invest $3.000.00 of Cemetery Trust
funds in bonds.
The purchase of a considerable quantity of pipe was authorized upon
motion by Merrill, seconded by Fiscgborn and carried.

Hospital: Re ford reported on his meeting wlth the Doctors at the
Hospital.in connectio~ with the lease of the hospital. .
Briggs reported on the Highway ~ommlttee Meetlng and stated that
Lytle of the State Highway COmmlssion had agreed to make surveys of the
proposed truck route and the widenlng of North Main Street and Siskiyou
Boulevard. "
The City Attorney also reported on the proposal of the City to ex-
tend a new 6 inch pipe line to the Bellview School intersection at cost,
also to install laterals of 3 and 5 inch pipe at cost. It was moved by
Merrill and seconded by Fischborn that the pipe line be installed. Carried.
The City Attorney read a propeeed ordinance vacatlng a certain portion
of Terrace Street(252 lwet of North end). It was moved by Weitzel and Sec-
omded by Redford thst the rules be suspended and the ordinance passed to ,
the second reading by title only. Carried. Following the second reading. it
was moved by Fischborn and seconded by Redford that the ordinance be adoptel
d as read and following a unanimous roll call, the Mayor declared Clty "
Ordinance No. 1065 adopted. "
The City ~ttorney read another ordinance to Vacate alleyway adjoining'
esat slde line of Lots 14-16 inclusive, Enders Addition to the City of Ash-
land. It was moved by Fischborn and seconded by Redford that the rules be
suspended and the ordinance passed to the second reading by title only.
Carrled. Following the second neading, it was moved by Redford and second-
ed by Weitzel that the ordinance be adopted as read, and following a unam-
0US roll call the Mayor declared Clty 6rdinahce No. 1066 adopted.
On motion, the Council adjourned to meet Oat the call o~ the Mayor:

Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Merrll1, Redford, Weitzel. Absent: Councilmen Fis-
chborn, Daugherty, Nosler.
The City Attorney read a propesed Parking meter ordinance. It was
moved by Redford and seconded by Merrl11 that the rules be suspended and
otdinance passed to the second reading by tltle only. Carried. Following
the second reading, it was moved by Weitzel and seconded by Merrill that
ordinance be adopped as read, and following a unanimous roll call, the
Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 1064 adOpted. On motion, th~ Council
