The Counoil met in adjourned session at 7.30 P. M. this date. Present. Acting-Mayor
Redrord, Counoilmen Daugherty, Fisohborn, Merrill, NosIer, Weitzel. Absent. Mayor
Wiley.
The purpose of the meeting was to listen to a report from A. D. Harvey, COIlllulting
Engineer relative to the best means of remedying the situation at Ashland Creek near the
Weitzel building.
Mr. Harvey made his report and stated that a large tube would not be necessary, as
the present tube _s adequate, but that by the construction of another "l;ube, for which
the excavation was already underway, it ...omld relieve an possible situation.
Fred Tayler was very ~~M~ strongly infavvr a one large tube and stated his reasons.
Mr. Kavanaugh of the Ashland Laundry Company reported on the possible danger to the
laundry at the time of the flood.
Following further discnssion, it was moved by Merrill and seconded by NosIer that
Engineer Harvoy get the figures o~ the project and make recommendations for the bridge.
Carried.
It was moved by Fischbdlrn and seconded by Daugherty that the City authorized Mr.
Harvey to make a survey of Ashland Creek all the way from Weitzel building to Van Ness
Avenue. Carried.
On lIlDtion, the Council adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
