ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL
ADJOUHNED ~lliETING
SEPTEMBER 10, 1964
The Common Council of the
session at 5:00 P.M. this date:
Baker, Lewis and Peters present.
City of Ashland met in adjourned
Mayor Neill presided. Councilman
Absent: Kerr, Ward and Whitham.
City Attorney Skerry read Ordinance No. 1363 dispensing with
an election within the City of Ashland with regard to the desir-
ability of annexing certain property located in territory contiguous
to the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, and establishing the
6th day of October, 1964 as the date for a public hearing at 8:00
P.M. at the Council Chambers.
Moved by Lewis, seconded by Peters, that the rules be suspended
and Ordinance be passed to second reading by title only. On roll call;
carried unanimously. Following second reading by Attorney Skerry,
moved by Peters, seconded by Lewis that Ordinance No. 1363 be adopted.
Discussion was entered into regarding proposed resolution in
regards to rezoning of Hillah Temple property for new or remodeled
structure on Ninburn Way. Following considerable discussion, no
action taken pending further study by City Attorney Skerry and City
Superintendent Ayre.
Superintendent Ayre stated that a film pertaining to new
process in street paving will be shown in the Council Chambers at
1:15 P.M., Friday, Septembet 11, 1964.
There being no further business, moved by Baker, seconded by
Lewis that meeting be adjOUrned subject to the call of the Mayor.
