I have lived in Ashland for eight years, and my basic views on issues that concern the City' s liveability are relatively well- known through statements at Council meetings and via the Daily Tidings. My political experience is limited to campaign management and speech writing ( San Francisco, Palo Alto and Honolulu ) , and as a media consultant ( radio/TV ) in those venues . I am not content to merely live here. I want to take .an active part in maintaining the qualities that make Ashland the unique place that it is . To this end, I currently volunteer as a Docent at the museum, do vacation house checks and downtown foot patrols through the RSVP program, I 'm on the VCB board and am on-call as a NOW escort. Politically, I vote as sort of a Reprocrat: i .e. , I consider issues and candidate' s positions rather than party line. I have been interested in our local government for more than a decade and have actively worked on many political campaigns, including those for candidates, school initiatives an city wide ballot measures. In addition to my civic experience listed below I have volunteered at Helman School and helped to organize high school graduation activities. I also have been active in Ashland Soccer both as a coach and organizer. I moved to Ashland in 1978 after receiving a degree of Fine Arts in Theater from the University of Nebraska. Currently I am working to complete my prerequisites to enter the Masters program in Organizational Psychology form SOSC. Seventeen years ago I was hired by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Association and am currently employed as the costume manager, a position I have held for 15 years.
