Dear Ms. Mickley:
Thank you for giving the City of Ashland the opportunity to review the materials related to
the Mount Ashland restoration bond. The city has no pressing concerns about the
restoration bond, although it was pointed out to me that a 2006 appraisal presented to the
City Council shows a deficit of$491,000 between the asset value and the cost of
liquidation.
Individual councilors who have other concerns will funnel their questions and concerns
through Councilor Dennis Slattery, who has recently been appointed as the city's liaison to
the Forest Service. Again, we appreciate the opportunity to review these materials.
