WHEREAS, the Common Council has heretofore elected to dispense wit-b submitting to the regoister-ed voters of the City, the question of annexing the hereinafter described property„ and F WHEREA`Si, `sari"dam propek(%, to= lie annexed is contiguous with the present boundary line of the City of Ashland, and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Common Council that the territory is to be annexed to the City upon condi•t-on that the majority of the votes cast in the territory, is in favor of annexa- tion; And WHEREAs, due and legal notice has been published and posted ca*l~lzkgng a ,ipublic hearing on the 26th day, of May, 1964, at 8:00 P.M. on, such''questiion of annexation, and WHEREArS, having he-Vd such hearing, the Common Council has deemed it in the best interests of the City of Ashland and the territory, to be annexed to annex said territory to the City of Ashland, NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 1. That by election held in the territory to be annexed on the 22nd day, of April, 1964, by a majority vote cast in said terri- tory,, the registered voters declared their desire to be annexed to the City of Ashland. 2. That as a result of said election in the territory to be annexed and the hearing held this date as heretofore stated, the Common Council does hereby declare that the following described property, to-wit: -1- ' 1- Beginning at the section corner common to Sections 10, 11, 14, and 15 in Township 39 South, Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian, Jackson County, Oregon; thence South 0° 10' East 1327.20 feet to the Northwest corner of the Glendale Subdivision in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon; thence South 89° 57' East 210.0 feet; thence South 0° 10' East 198.0 feet; thence South 89° 57' East 156.0 feet; thence South 0° 10' East 991.07 feet to the Northerly line of Siskiyou Boulevard,; thence South 56° 13' East along said Northerly line 319.0 feet, more or less, to the Westerly line of Clay Street; thence Southerly along said Westerly line of Clay Street extended to a point which lies 990.0 feet South of the North line of Section 23 in Township 39 South, Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian, Jackson County, Oregon; thence Southeasterly to a point which lies West 208.0 feet from the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 23; thence East 1048.0 feet to a point which lies 150.0 feet East of the East line of Tolman Creek Road; thence North and paral- lel to said Road to the Northerly right-of-way line of U. S. Highway #99 (Siskiyou Boulevard extended); thence South D~ 56° 13' East along said Northerly line 580.0 feet, more or less, to the North-South Quarter line of Section 14 in the aforesaid Townshcip and Range; thence North along said Quarter line to a point which lies 200.0 feet South of the South line of State Highway #66; thence East and parallel to said South line of Highway to the Westerly line of U. S. Interstate No. 5 (Freeway); thence Northerly along said Westerly right-of-way line to a point which lies 230.0 feet North of the center line of the aforesaid State Highway #66; thence West and parallel to the said Highway center line to the East line of Clay Street; thence South along said East line of Clay Street 200.0 feet to the North line of Highway #66; thence Westerly along said North line to the Southerly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad; thence Northwesterly along said right-of- way to its intersection with the West line of Section 11 of the aforesaid Township and Range; thence South 0° 10' East 302.5 feet to the point of beginning. be, and the same hereby is, annexed to the City of Ashland. 3. That the City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to submit to the Secretary of State an abstract as provided in ORS 222.150. The foregoing ordinance was duly passed, under a suspension of the rules, at adjourned meeting of the Common Council held on the X Z day of May, 1964, the vote being as follows: Ayes Nays O Approved: Mayor To all of which I hereby certify: Recorder
