States, by virtue of the power in me veste? by sec- tion ttrrenty-four of the aforesaid Act of Congress, do hereby make T 1: nwn and proclaim that there is hereby reserved from r -t entry or settlement and set apart as a Public Reservation, all those certain tracts, pieces or jarceis of laid lying and be- ing situate in the State of Oregon, and within the boundaries particularly descried as follows, to-wit: Beginning a the e north-cast corner ~r of Section twenty- seven (27), Township thirty-nine (39) South, Range one (1) East, 7illamette Neric?ian; thence westerly along the curved*ed r orne: of Sac`io and ur_surveyed section line to he nort1, ~:-':est corner twenty-five (25), Township thirty-nine (39) South, Range one (1) West; thence southerly along the section line to the south- west corner of Section thirty-six (36), said township and range; thence westerly along the Ninth (9t b)Standard Parallel South to the north-west corner of Section one (1), Township forty (40) South, Range one (1) Crest; thence southerly along the sec- tion line to the south-west corner of Section thirteen (13), said township and range; thence easterly along the surveyed and unsurveyed section line to the point for the south-east corner of Section fourteen (14), Township forty (40) South, Range one (1) East; thence northerly along the surveyed and unsurveyed section line to the north-east corner of Section thirty-five (35), Township thirty-nine (39) South, Range one (1) East; thence westerly to the north-west corner of said Sec- tion thirty-five (35); thence northerly to the nort:i-east cor- ner of Section twenty-seven (27), said township and range, the place of beginning. Excepting from the force and effect of this procla- mation all lands which may have been, prior to the date hereof, embraced in any legal entry or covered by any lawful filing c_uly of record in the proper United States Land Office,or upon which any valid settlement has been made pursuant to law, and the statutory -eriod within which to make entry or filing of record has not expired; and all mining claims duly located and held according to the laws of the United States and rules and regulations not in conflict therewith; Provided that this exception shall not continue to apply to any particular tract of land unless the entryman, settler or claimant continues to comply with the law under which the entry, filing, settlement or location was made.
