-REFEREE' S DEED .
Whereas, the undersigned, W.A. Patrick, was on the 4th day of
September, 1907, duly appointed by the Circuit Court of Jackson
County, Oregon, as Referee in partition, and authorized to sell and
dispose of all of the real estate belonging to the estate of Philip
Mullen, deceased, at public auction for cash, and distribute the
proceeds thereof among the persons lawfully entitled thereto; and
Whereas, the said W.A. Patrick did duly qualify as Referee
aforesaid, and did cause due notice of sale of the premises belong-
ing tothe said estate to be given as required by law, and did on
t"e 12th day of October, 1907, at 1 o'clock P.M. in front of the
court house in Jacksonville, Jackson county, Oregon, strike off and
sell the real estate hereinafter described to the City of Ashland,
for the sum of fifty dollars cash; and
Whereas, on the said 12th day of October, 1907, the said
referee duly filed in said court, a report of said sale, and a
prayer for the confirmation thereof; and

Whereas, on the of ,;h day of October, 1907, no objections had been filed to said report or to such confirmation, the court
did then and there make an order confirming the said sale, and did
authorize and direct the said referee to make conveyance of the
property hereinafter described to the said purchaser, upon the
payment of the said sum of fifty dollars; and
Whereas, the said sum of fifty dollars has heretofore been
paid to this referee for the said premises,
Now Therefore, THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH: That I,
W.A. Patrick, Referee in partition, under and by virtue of the
foregoing appointment and authority, do as such referee, grant,
bargain, sell and convey unto the City of Ashland, a municipal
corporation of the county of Jackson, state of Oregon, for and in
consideration of the stun of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars, to me in hand
paid, the following; described real estate, situated in Lot 1, Block
16 in the City of Ashlapl, Jackson county, Oregon, particularly
described as follow to-wit:
Beginning 88 ~ eet North of the Southwest corner of said
Lot l; thence No Q along the line of said Lot 1 and fain
Street 76 j feet to the intersection of Mechanics Street; thence
Southeasterly along the South line of Pieclianics Street 81 ft. 11 in.,
and ;,hence Southerly across said Lot 1 to the place of beginning.

TO HAVE and TO HOLDV unto the said City of Ashland, its
successc>rs and assigns forever, together with the tenements,
hereditx,ients and appurtenances thereunto belonging.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereixnto set my hand and seal

On this day of October, 1407, personally
appeared before me the undersigned, a Notary rublic in and for
Jackson County, Oregon, the above named W.A. Patrick, personally,
known to me, and known to me to be the person described in, and who
executed the above instrument, and he duly acknowledged to me that
he executed th.e sazae, and that he did so freely and voluntarily in
his capacity as Referee in partition.
