RESOLUTION NO. 86-3 /
A RESOLUTION DECLARING SEPTEMBER 7, 1986
AS "NUCLEAR FREE ASHLAND DAY
WHEREAS, the citizens of Ashland by a popular vote of its
citizens on November 2, 1982, declared the City
a Nuclear Free Zone; and
WHEREAS, Ashland became the first City in the United States
to so declare itself by the electoral process; and
WHEREAS, the 4th Annual Rogue Valley Peace Pilgrimage will
arrive in Ashland on September 7, 1986
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the
City of Ashland as follows:
SECTION 1. September 7, 1986 is hereby designated as "Nuclear
Free A and Day" within the City.
The foregoing resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Ashland on the
day o f e~a& ,j-t , 1986.
