HomeMy WebLinkAbout394 Vacating Land on Meade Street '71~~~~~52 CITY ORDINANCE NO 394 An ordinance to vacate a strip of land from off each side of Meade Street, between Montana Street and Vista Street so as to reduce the width of said Meade Street from 60 feet to 40 feet. Whereas, the owners of more than two-thirds of the frontage of the property abutting on Meade Street have petitioned the common council of the City of Ashland, that a strip of land from off each side of said street, ten feet wide, be vacated so as to reduce the width or said Meade Street, between Montana Street and Vista Street from 60 feet to 40 feet. And Whereas, the said common council has given due notice of ten days, by posting notices in two conspicuous places on said Meade Street of the proposed vacation of a strip of land 10 feet wide from off each side of said Meade Street, now therefore, The people of the City of Ashland do ordain as follows: Section 1 That a strip of land 10 feet wide from off each side of Meade Street, between Montana Street and Vista Street, be vacated so as to reduce the width of said Meade Street from 60 feet to 40 feet. Section 2 This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration of ten days after its adoption by the council and approval by the mayor. The foregoing ordinance was adopted by the common council of the City of Ashland, Oregon, under a suspension of the rules, two-thirds voting in favor thereof, at an adjourned regular meeting held on the 6th day of July, 1909, by a vote of six in favor thereof and none against the same.
