ARTICLE I. This company shall be known and designated as Ashland Hose Company No. (1), and shall consist of such members as is prescribed by law, all of whom shall be permanent residents of the city of Ashland. ARTICLE II. SECTION 1. The regular meetings of this company stall be held on the first Wednesdav of each month, and shall be galled to order during the months of No- vember, December, January, February, March, April, September and October, at 7:30 o'clock, May. June, July and August, at 8 o'clock. SECTION 2, . An annual meeting of this company shall be held on the first ' Wednesdav in May, for the purpose of electing officers, hearing reports, and attend- inv to other appropriate business. SECTION 3. Five members shall constitute a quorum to transact the business of the company. SECTION 4. Notices of all meetings, drills and parades of the company shall be published by posting official notices of such meetings on the front of the hose house and by flyin_ the company meeting flag during the day of meeting and alarm of hell in the evening. A SECTION 5. Special meetings may be held upon the call of the President or at a written request of not less than five (5) members, which request shall distinctly state the object of the meeting. SECTION 6. No business shall be transacted at special meetings other than that for whicf, suer meeting may have been called. ARTICLE III. OFFICERS. The Secretary shall be fined one dollar for non-attendance at regular and special meetings. SEC. 3. Sickness in a member's family, absence from town, or other unavoid- able circumstance, shall be considered a sufficient excuse for non-attendance at drill, fire or meeting, and it shall be the duty of the member so absent to present his excuse in writing at the next regular meetinv which he may he able to attend. SEC. 4. 411 applications to be excused from fines for non-attendance at fires, drills, meetings, etc., shall be presented in writing. Stich applications stall be read just before collection of dues or fines, and may he accepted by a vote of the members present. ARTICLE IV. ALARMS. The town to be divided into three (3) districts, to be known as districts 1, 2 and 3. District No. 1 to be the part of town in the vicinity of South School House, and the taps for this district will be one tap of bell at intervals vfter veneral alarm. District No. 2 wilt be the part of the city in the vicinity i)f North School House, and the taps for this district will he two taps of bell after general alarm, with in- tervals.
