P.~oved by Bergner seconded by Claycomb that the normal School be granted permission
to take the scenery from the Chautauqua Building and that the ~~ark Board be advised
that the City has taken this action. Carried.
On motion, the council adjourned to meet at the call of the ~~~yor.

Present 1~~ayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey; absent Tayler
bt~enner.
~~inutes of the previous meeting vrere read ana approved as read.
The following building permits were granted:
No. 99 I`~~'s. Chas. ~mitmore- To erec+~ dwelling X2,000.00
100 W. J. Dougherty- Remodel house and garage 250.00
" 101 I~rs E. E. Dennis- Reshingle dwelling 200.00
W. S. Smith addressed the council asking that the City bear part of the expense
of moving his chicken house on Ziberty Street. On motion of Bergner, seconded by Blake this matter was referred to the Sanitary Committee for investigation
and rec-
ommendations at the next meeting.

within the city limits was referred to the Sanitary Committee.
The hour of 8 fl'c~.ock having arrived the council proceeded to open bids for the construction of pavement on t~ainburn Way through I,ithia Park. The
bid of 0. S. Easter-
ling was the only one presented. On motion of Bergner seconded by Blake the matter 1
was referred to the Engineering Department with instructions to submit figures on tY~
probable cost of the improvement at a special meeting to be called by the ~~a yor.
On motion, the council adjourned subject to call. j

The council met at the call of the ~ti~iayor at 7:30 o'clock P.~,~2. on this date.
Present T:~ayor i~hornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Cleycomb, Hersey, ~~Jenner; absent
Tayler.
The ~~a yor stated that the meeting had been called for the purpose of coming to
a decision regarding the Park Avenue paving.
Engiheer ttlalker presented an estima+P of the probable cost of the pavement if
constructed by the City stating that he thought th~~:,Bitumuls pavement could be laid
for ~9 cents a square yard.
It j~as moved by Kersey seconded by 4~enner that the bid of 0. 8. Easterling be
rejected and his certified check be returned to him. Carried unanimously.
~~~oved by Claycomb seconded by Blake that the Engineer be ib~structed to make
a ~.etailed report of the cost of the work ana present same to the council at its
next meeting. Carried..
On motion, the council adjourned. Mayor
