HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-0805 Council Mtg MIN 402. Ashland, Oregon, Aug.. 5, 1930. The council met in regti~.lar session at 7:30 o'clock P.~~~. on this gate. Present Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, Wenner; absent Mayor Thornton, Councilman Tayler. In the absence of the Mayor, Councilman Blake, Chairman of the Council, presided. Minutes-of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X9,346.87, ~vere read in total amount only. ~~~otion was made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn in payment thereos. The vote was as follows: Ayes- Bergner, Claycomb, Hersey, ~denner; nays- none, Carried. On motion, the following building per~~its ~~rere granted: i~o. 102 G.~~.Ross- permit to reshingle dwelling Approx. Cost X200.00 103 D.F.Kay- Permit to e~~~ect Used Car Shed " " 150.00 104 A. ~~oore- Permit to repair store Bldg. Communication from the Ashland lumber Company quoting the City a price on Colas, paving asphalt was read and referred to the ~igineering Department for investigation. On motion, the following persons were granted free water and lights to Jan. 1, 1931: ~,~ss. A. Russell 185 California St. ~Irs. F. Reno 371 Grssham Street ~~rs. I~. E, Rowley 115 Lincoln Street Tars. J.~denzo l~~iller Indiana Street. After some discussion it was moved by Bergner seconded by Claycomb that the City advertise for bids for an oil burner for the hospital and incidental repairs necessary, the City to reserve the right to reject any any. all bids. Carried. Henry Carter addressed the. Council requesting that the City.`set aside one free day each week at the dump ground. This matter was referred to the Sanitary Committee for investigation and report.- Engineer. Walker addressed the Council regaraing the cost of paving ~~inburn ~,~ay. He was instructed to bring in a ~~'ritten report in detail. The request of the Texaco Co. for a permit to erect a steelIslanc~ containing two gasoline pumps and one oil pump was read and referred to the Street Committee for inves- tigation.
