accepted and ordered placed on filed.
. Bills 0'K' d by the Finance Committee, amo~.~nting to ~~3,172.03, were read in total
amount only. l~Iotion was made and seconded that said bills be allo~,~~ed and warrants a
ordered drat~-n in payment thereof. The vote ~£ras as follows : eyes- Bergner, Blake, `
1"~enner; nays none. Carried.
The request of ?ss. D. D. Good that she be gra~lted free lights and water was
read but no action ti;gas taken.
Co_r~munication from J. L. Franzen, Secretary of the League of Oregon Cities,
relative to a bill tixrhich tirill be presented at the next legislature, was referred to the
City Attorney.

The request of C. '~l. Cramer for a permit to remodel a house and build a barn
was referred to the Sanitary Committee. a-
Councilman Bergner addressed the Council recommending that Bancroft Bonds Tlo. a to 23 inclusive, due Oct. 1st, 1930, amounting to ;9,901.10 be
paid and suggested
that X1,901.10 of said bonds be paid from the Real Estate and Refunding Bold Sinking
Fund and the balance of `;'8,000 be refunded. He recommended that said X8,000 issue
of bonds be purchased by the Electric Light Fund and later sold to the Cemetery r
Trust Fund. He also recommended that 4640.00 be transferred from the Int. ~ Bonds
Fund to the Paving Bond Redemption Fund as a temporary loan. It was moved by
ti"denner seconded by Bla'~e that the Finance Committee Ts report be accepted and the :Honey loaned as recommended. Carried.
~~oved by Bergner seconded by ~~lenner that the .Electric Departrlent be authorized
to install a flood light at the formal at the City's expense at a cost of not to
exceed `;100.00 with the understanding that the Tnormal School is to pay for the current
consumed. Carried.
T~~oved by Bergner seconded by Blake that i'~;'~'. ~7uncan be granted a refund of :1;3.75
on his irrigation bill. Carried.
Councilman t~Jenner retorted teat tl~e Committee had gone over the bids subr~it add
for furnishing an~_ installing an oil burner at the hospital and recommended that the
matter be left to them with potiFrer to act. T~oved by Blake seconded by Bergner that
the Committee be authorized to accept which ever bid they see fit after further investigation. Carried.
On recommendation of the Cemetery Committee the City Attorney was instructed. to
enter into negotiations with the Odd Fellows Lodge rLgarding the turning over of
the Odd Fello~°rs Cemetery in Ashland ana Fountain ~Tielyr to the City, and to report back F
to the council. Carried.
The council next proceeded to consider a proposed city ordinance_e~atitled
"Ordinance authorizing tie issuance of Improvement Refunding Bonds in the sum of Eight
Thousand DQ~.lars to refold B~.ncroft Bonds Tlos. 4 to 19 inclusive, dated October 1st,
1920" Th~~.ordinance }~,ving been read the first time, on motion, the rules Urere sus-
pended, three voting In favor thereof, and the ordinance was passed to the second
reading. _~Taving been read the second time, roll call was ordered on its adoption. The
vote was as folloti~rs : eyes Bergner, Blake, %tennerl nays none; Carried.. Thereupon the l:'~ayor declarer City Ordinance ro. 88.3 adopted.
The council nest proc ~ded to co~~sidti~r a resolution entitled "Resolution authori-
zing the payment of Bancroft Improverflent Bonds l~tumbered 20, 21, 22 and 23, aggregating
~;1, 901.10 from the Real Estate anal `efunding Bond Sinking Fund, nottitilithstanding the
pro.isions of resolution creating said Real Estate and Refunding Bond Sinking Fund
adopted on the 19th day of Devember, 1922." The resolution having been read the first time, on motion, the rules ti~rere suspended, tree voting
in favor thereof, and the reso-

The council next proceeded to consider a resolution entitled '?Resolution proposing
an amend~r~ent to the Charter of the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon; by adding
thereto an article to be ~rnov~rn as Article ~~VIII of said charter, author°izing the

providing that said proposed charter amendment be submitred to the electors of said 44 city for their approval or rejection at the general election
to be held on the 4th day
of Tlovember, 1930, and further providing a ballot title for said measure and declaring
