Present ~~ayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, V!lenner; absent Tayler. P~~2inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Reports of B. E. Hicks, Ernest Cooper, E. R. Hosler and 14~. ~tauchope for the month of November, 1930, ti~aere read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file. ~ t Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X369.25, were read in total amount onl Pa~otion was made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants y ordered drawn in payment thereof. The vote was as follows: Ayes Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, !~enner; nays none. Carried. The following building permits were granted: No. 148- G. S. Butler- Repair house and garage X12 0.00 ~ n 149 G. A. Briscoe- Build chicken shed 304.00 Request (No. 150) of H°: Z. Carey for permit to build a combined residence and sho~~room for plumbing, with workshop in the rear on the lot on the Boulevard adjoining the Full Gospel Church, was referred to a special committee consisting of Councilmen Bergner, Hersey and Claycomb. Moved by Claycomb seconded by Blakr ths.t the City bear the expense of printing 50 s petitions for paving profram. Carried. ` S The request of ~~~r. Oeser that he be allovaed to pay for a nee;r sidewalk in front of his service station under the Bancroft Act, was referred to the City Attorney. The council next proceeded to consider an ordinance entitled "An ordinance requiring trhe Recorder of the City of Ashland Oregon, to notify the County Assessor and County Clerk of the County of Jackson, State of Oregon, of all delinquent special benefit assess- menu ana docketed city liens together ti~rith interest and penalties thereon, as required by Section 2 of Article 12 of the Charter of the City of said City". The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the rules ti~ere suspended, five voting in favor th~re- ~of, anc~ the ordinance was passed to the second reading. Having been read the second time, roll call uses ordered on its adoption. the vote was as follows: Ayes Bergner, Blake, a,~~L' Claycomb, Hersey ~r`~enner; nays none. F~ The Committee appointed to act on the request of G.I,.Carey for a permit to build a combined residence and showroom (No. 150j on the lot adjoining the Full Gospel Church ~~3 , on the Boulevard, reported that they had granted the permit. 3 On motion a permit was granted. L. ~ h TT,n ~ k n r'~ Cy a- n o a  land is chosen as the site for zne vetieran's home, 011er Uu iuril.iZJ-Ll Ul1G U111UGU wluav~►7 Govern-,ent with a ito acre site, located upon the Pacific Highway south of Ashland, said site to be free of encumbrance, and to have piped thereto at the expense of the City, soda and sulphur water in addition to the Lithia Water already located on said site; the City of Ashland further agreeing to further donate for the benefit of said site a free paid up water right for 200 acre feet of irrigation water, and to pipt Ashland City water to the site.for domestic'consumption and fire protection, said offer to be made when options on the land involved in said site have been properly executed, and that the ~~T ~~ayor be authorised to wire the Board of Hospitalization of this offer, it being under- stood that the City shrill be able to secure the land involved for the sum of X49,500.00 The vote ti~;as as follows; Ayes, Bergner, Blake, Hersey, '~'ennerl nays none.
