Present r~ayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, ieyler, Benner; nays, none. ?~Tinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to x;8,456.11, ~Arere read i~ total amount only. I~~otion was made and seconded that said bills be alloE~~ed and warrants ordered drawn in payment thereof. ~'he vote ~t~as as folloti°rs: 1'tyes Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, ~Tayler, e~~enner. nays none. Carried. ' After some biscussion it was moved by Bergner seconded by Hersey that the ~;iayor be authorized to purchase six school signs at a price of X6.50 each. Carried. Councilman ~7enner, Chair~ian of the Cemetery Committee, recommended that G. M. Frost be appointed sexton of cemeteries for- the remainder of the year. The ~~Iayar stated that on the recommendation of a4s. ~'denner he vN~ould appoint l~r. Frost Cemetery Sexton. ~}1oved by Tayler seconded by ~~enner that the appointr~ent be coni'irmed. ~~he vote was as follows: Ayes Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, ~~ersey, iaylez°, ';a`enner; slays none. Carried. Councilman ~'~enner recommene~ed that the boors of the Chautquaua Building 'be boarded up to keep the children out. It was gloved by Bergner seconded by Blake that the l~yor be authorized to have the doors and entrances board.ee. up. Carried. John .Enders abdressed the council, representing the merchants, asking that the City k put on another Y11ght patrolman e.uring the winter rr~onths. I!~oved by Bergner seeondec by Claycomb that the matter of appointing another night man on the police force be referred to the P4~~ayor ti~rith po~~~er to act. Carried. m ~ I I~ioved by Bergner seconded. by layler that the action of the T~,~ayor in offering a reward of ~~250.00 for the capture anc~ conviction of the murders of Victor hnptt be approved. Ctrrier~.  The matter of selling the City's timber was brought up 'by tl,e i;~ayor and referred to Councilrlan Claycomb. The council next proceeded to consider a proposed Uity Ordinance Z,o. 902 entit-ed ('Ordinance authorizing the issuance of City Improvement Bonds in the matter of the laying of a sewer in what has been aesignated as Sewer District No. 35." The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the rules were suspended, six voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance was passed to the second reading.aving been read the second
