The council met in s ecial session at 7.30 P this dat ~ ~ • r p e. Present Mayor ~~iley,
Councilmen Bergner, Claycomb, Lininger, Tayler, ~lenner; absent Councilman Gregg.
The subject of remodeling the R~corderts Office was to come up for discussion and
Frank Jordan and Paul R. foods, Medford, were present.

The City Engineer showed a map of a newly proposed route thru the Heath place on
Terrace Street.
The proposed ordinance requiring the~Reeorder of the City of Ashland, Oregon to not-
e ify the County Assessor and County Clerk of Jackson County of all delinquent special bene-
fit assessments and docketed city liens with interest and penalties thereon having been
read the first time, on motion by Claycomb, the rules were suspended, five voting in favor
thereof, the ordinance was passed to the second reading by title only. Having been read
the second time, it was moved by ~;enner, seconded by Tayler that the ordinance be adopted.
Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being 5 in favor, and none against. There-
upon the Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 925 adopted.
Routine matters concerning the wTater and light deposit receipts,~.a~ r7~oar of deposits,
improvements in the handling of water and light receipt stubs, etc s~.miTar„used by the
California Oregon Power Company: and the purchase~of X1773.60 in bonds, recently authorized
for Paving District No. 7, by the Electric Light Depreciation Fund were approved.
In order to get more prompt action on the C~VA pro~eets, it was moved by ~'ayler, second- ed by Bergner that the Mayor appoint a committee consisting
of Councilman Claycomb and him-
self and a number of citizens to secure approval of as many of these projects and as promp-
tly as possible,
w Baughman, Fire Chief was present and brought up the subject of a new ordinance con-
cerning cleaning establishments and their effect on insitrrynce rates. l~~oved by Bergner that
the Fire Committee and the City Attorney revise the Fire Zone Building Ordinance. Seconded b Cla comb. Carried.

Claycomb reported further on his negotiations with the federal authorities coneerriing
the improvement of the air port.
On motion, the council adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
