Present: Mayor Ailey, I` , councilmen Blaxe, Gregg, Ingle , absent : Councilmen np.ple~rhi te, Hansen, 'drenner. F. J. ~Chiakj Farlow was present and stated that hpplewhite had left and that it would be necessary to close the relief office unless some other arrangements could be made. He ' stated that he would take over the duties for X50.00 per .onth additional to the X50.00 he was now getting. He did not think that federal funds could be secured for this purpose. It was decided to defer the matter until the next council meeting. Letters of resignation of councilmen Applewhite and 'r~enner were read. loved by Gregg that the resignations be accepted and a vote of thaa~rtis be extended to them. aeconded by Blake. carried. I~Ioved by Gregg that the charges against the City Recorder J. ndams be dismissed. Seconded by Blake. Roll call was ordered, the vote being, Ayes: Blake, Gregg, Ingle. Days: None. Carried. F The f ollowin~ monthly reports were read, accepted and ordered plaeec~ on file: electric, Street and t~~ater Departments for November and December; Librarian for h~ovem'oer and December; Dump Ground for Decem'c~er; City Judge for October, Ijovemner and December; City Recorder for November and December; Police Departr~ent report for the second half of 1935 and summary for the year 1935. The report of the Park Comr~~ission was read and placed on file for the months of November and December 1935. The following bills y~rere approved for payment : I~, Greeley and Hansen, ~~361.39 Jackson County abstract Company, X40.00 i~ Teal, ~~infree, i~Ie~Culloch, Shuler and ielley, ~~100.00 Frank J . 'Tan Dyke , X14.00 'I J. 0. Rigg ~►state, ~ .60 letter from the Library Board re questing the re-appointment of -r. Tai. Foley as a member ~I of the board for the regular term of 5 years was read. The ~~Iayor made the appointment. Moved by Gregg and seconded by Hansen that the Mayor's appointment be approved.. Carried. The City Superintendent submitted a list of water and light customer's accounts subject to adjustment for various reasons and totalling credits of 119.04. Moved by Ingle and second- ed by Hansen that the credits be autr:orized. Carried. Another list containing balances which were owing by persons ~~rho were no~~r on the free list was presented with the recommendation that the balances be dro ed. The amount bein "'317.64. The City Superintendent asr~ed for authorization for a vault to be installed at the ware- ~ house at an approxir.~ate cost of~~150.50. The City attorney stated that blr. goon did not want to accel>t the lease for the 17 acres, of air port property unless it was et~anged to read 10 years and he would not have to pay irrigation charges on tree land. Gipson in order to widen the road at the point vahere Scenic Drive and '~~~~imer Heights met and he could obtain sa:,~e in excilarlge for perpetual upkeep for the cemetery lot belonging to i~ir. Gipson wi~ich consisted of 4~ spaces, the upkeep price of which } was X67.50. Hansen stated that 11r.eeay wanted to mare a peal for some cite property, offering a 91000.00 life insurance policy as security. Hansen did not reconmend the accept- ance of the offer and no action was taken, relief: The employment of E. J. Farlow was considered and the City Attorney reported on his investigation concernin same. It was moved by Ingle that Farlow be offered X35.00 per month as relief officer subject to his retention with the Government as a foreman. Seconded by Hansen. Carried J
