Present P~I~.yor ~'diley; Councilmen Bergner°, Claycomb, Zininger, Tayler, ~~renner; absent Councilman Gregg. rv The chief purpose of the meeting uvas to discuss a neva contract `with the California- - Oregon Power Company. The former contract had called for .009 per K.T~~.H. Representat- ives from the C.O.P. Co. present were t~Ir. Tom Delzell and i:Ira Jack Thompson. After a lengthy discussion of the subject, the C.O.P. Co., representatives proposed the following rate• The first 50,000 K.°~'~.H. at .009 per ~L.~Y.H. The next 50,000 K.'~r.H. at .0082 per K.'~~.H. :ill above100,000 K.'oY.H. at .007-~~ ~ per I:,~'l.H, The City made a counter proposal as follows: The first 50,000 K.~'~.H. at .009 ~ per I~,~~"1.H. All a'aove 50,000 K.V.H. at .007u per K,v~t.H, No definite action was taken and the representatives left to present the Cities pro- posal to the C. O. P. Co,, for approval. The subject of bids on the nevi jail wa,s discussed by the Jail Committee. l~.oved by 'denner that the qid of George iley for X498.30 be accepted being the lowest bid. Second- ed by Claycomb. Present I4~Zayor Ailey; Councilmen Bergner, Claycomb, hininger, Tayler, ~~jenner; absent Councilman Gregg. Minutes of the ~~revious meetings were.approved, i~~ionthly reports of the Recorder ana superintendent of the City Dump Ground were read, and on motion accepted and ordered placed on file. Bi~.ls amounting to X3970.77 OK'ed by the Finance Committee, were presented in total only and on motion were approved and warrants ordered drawn to cover the individual amounts. Moved by Claycomb that the wiring and plumbing at the jail be reconsidered by the Council and 'aids be asked for on ~~ednesday a,t 8 P. Seconded ay 'Tayler. Carried. Z. I. Is'ioon brought up the subject of merchants patrol vrhich he had been working on, ex- plaining the vaork. I~rs. Freeman was present anti astied concerning her seT~daer connection, same being referred to 17~~. Hosler. Moved by `~Ienner that the condition of the Bond property being very unsatisfactory (due to seepage etc) that sir. Bond be vrritten a letter advising him that if same was not correct- ed by September 20, 1933 the City ~vould do the necessary T~lorl~ and charge same to property. Seconded by 3ergner. Carried. Moved by Tayler that the City Attorney notify %Zr. Gray of O~erlin Street that he must began to connect the sevrer on or before September 15, 1933 or the City would do so and assess charges against the property. Seconded ~y :+enner. Carried. ~a ~~s. ~Tlalker, City Engineer, made his report on the paving of District l~0 7. l;Ioved by Claycomb that the report be accepted tivitl thanks and the vJOrli approved. Seconded by ~:'v~enner. Carried, The proposed ordinance on storage of explosives tivas on motion by ~~enner referred to the City 'ttorney for correction. The proposed ordinance for the lev-~inT special assessments (Paving ~7~ against property benefited was read and on motion by Claycomb ,passed to the second reading. Loved by ',~tenner that Ordinance ~o. 920 for levying assessments against this property in Paving Dis- trio IVTo. 7 be adopted. Roll v~ras called with the vote as follows: Ayes, Bergner, Claycomb, I,ininger, Tayler, ;'renner; Days, ISone. Thereupon, the tiayor declared City Ordinance No 920 ~ adopted.
