P~. this date. Present Mayor~iley; Councilmen applewhite, Bergner, Blake, Gregg, Tayler, ~'lenner; absent none. The minutes of previous meetings were read and approved as read. Monthly reports of the Chief of Police-EJanuary to Junes-and the Superintendent of the Dump Ground for June were read, accepter. and ordered placed on file. Bills amounting to X5741.50 were as to total amount only, same having been OK'ed by the Finance Committee. Moved by Gregg that the bills be paid, seconded by Blase. Roll call was ordered, the vote being ayes, 6, bays, 0. Carried. r s~~~. . a petition asking for a four inch water main on Lincoln Street was read and Mr. Haskins spoke briefly on it. Moved by Bergner that sane be referred to the dater Super- intendent and mater Committee for investigation. Seconded by ~lenner, carried. ~ letter from G.. Vii. Green relative to widening the Boulevard near the Normal School was read. Moved by Tayler that the matter be referred to the Street Committee and City E attorney to frame a letter endorsing this i~~provement. Seconded by Bergner, earned. letter from the of office of the Secretary of State commending C. P. Talent, Chief k of Police for his work in handling the temporary license fees was read. Dr. D. M. Brower as president of the hospital board reported that the Staff recomm- ended that the Standard g-Ray be purchased. Dr. ~~oods also spoke, and stated that the Eberhart price of the ~-Ray had gone zzp since the last quotation. ~ letter from Mr. , "a' Manager of the Standard X-Ray Company .was read. It quoted a new price of X1900.00 or X2187,50 installed. &Ioved by ~lenner that the contract be let to the atandard ~-Ray ~ Company. Seconded by Blake. The City attorney read a letter he had received from attorney T~oulton regarding an r'' injury received by a Mr. Cates last December while working in the City Park as a Ct'GA pro- G feet, also his reply to Mr. Moulton regarding the impending law suit of the City Vs Cates. a petition regarding the regulation of Beauty Parlors was read, but no action taken. The Free List and list of delinquents wYlo were not on the free list was considered and the suggestion made that sa~~e be checked with Idr. McCallen in charge of the county Relief Office. ikioved by Bergner that the delinquent water users not on the free list be referred to the ,~aater comr~ittee ~aitl power to act. Seconded by Blake, carried. t Realt It was reported that a party vaished to buy one of the air Port houses and about ~ acres of land on the highway. Moved by Bergner that the sale be referred to ~ e air Port and Realty Committees to report back.
