Carried. , The City Attorney reported on the negotiations concerning° the cle~.ring of the ' title on the Lithia Springs property, stating the{t Pis. and Dirs. Seconded by ~-Iansen. s,~ ' Carried. sC'. 4 ,,~~£t~ Biegel spoke of giving free use of city o~med lots to persons on relief, but suggestec that if the lots ~~ere given free of rent, th"t. the water used on same should be paid for by the parties concerned. x~ r~ The city attorney reported on the trip to Portland which he and the Mayor made to attend the State Highway meeting. r The Recorder read a proposed ordinance providing that certain real property near corner of Second and Alain Streets be vacated. ~~oved by Apple~rhite and seconded by V'lenner that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be passed to the second reading by title only. Carried. ~~oved by Wenner that the ordinance be adopted as read, se~- onded by Applewhite. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being Ayes 4, Nays 0. Thereupon, the Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 942 adopted. ' Z. J. Knox, Certified Public Accountant, Bedford, Ore,, addressed the council on t}~~ the subject of the annual audit of the city books for 1934, exhibiting the audit of Klamath Falls dust completed and discussing severa 1 phases of the audit. Plans were made to have him return far further discussion when desired by the council. On motion, the council a djourne~ to meet at the call of the ~~ayor. Absent: Councilman .Make. The Ma or announced that the ur?;~ose of the meeti .was to discuss the location y p ~ ~ of the gas tans for the Southern Oregon Gas Co. Hansen reviewed the results of the negotiations to date and a representative of the Oregon Insurance Rating, Bureau spoke reg~:rding the effect an insurance r:;tes, stating th~~t there would be no increase in rates. ~x. York, vice-president of the Southern _~~-,k Oregon Gas Co. spoke on the location, contrasting the two locations under consideration. Hansen stated that the original price wa;s set at X800.00, but thf3t the City would be willing to compromise for X650.00. After some discussion concerning the clearing ' up of the lot, it ~F~as agreed to deduct X25.00 further on the price to allow for part of the expense of cleaning up the lot. ~~loved by Hansen that the Cit~r sell the lot for 1625.00, reserving a 10 foot strip along "B" street to widen the street if and when necessary.
