Street; The City Attorney read a letter from the Southern Pncific Co. concerning Y~ ~w~~1 sale of a triangular piece of land, 40 ft. on each side on the corner of ''B" and Water Streets, but no definite action taken. A letter from the Standard Oil Company relative to their proposed super-service station, accompanied by plans anc specifications wGs the next order of business. s After some discussion, it was moved by Ingle and seconded by Blake that the city grant ,R the Standard Oil Co. of California the right to erect a modern service station at the corner of Bast ?Main and First Streets, providing saia Standard Oil company meat all requirements of city ordinances as to buildings and the installation of gasoline tanks . Fuller spoke on housing ~~lans, suggesting that the City assist. Pad°ment of the Dump r7round being subject to approval by the Chief of Police. A delegation of business men were present to recuest the City to approve an expenditure of x,400.00 far material for the stage of the proposed ~lizabethian Theatre on the site of the Ch4utauqua Building. Prof. I. Tom'. Fining spoke at length on the proposal, urging approval. There was some discussion, finally resulting in a mn,tion by Ingle that the City approve an expenditure of not to exceed ~p400.00 for material for constructing the stG.ge of the proposed Elizabethian Theatre and that the 4th of July Committee pay to City all excess revenues from the 4th of July celebration and make are accounting to the City. Seconded by Hansen. Roll Call was ordered, the vote 5 lea s 0 Carried. being Ayes , y  A petition from business men requesting the right to sell small fire-crackers, July 1 to 4th inclusive was read. Following, discussions it was ,-.loved by Hansen that the request f'or fire-crackers be granted and the ordinance concerning; same be amended to conform to the State Law. Seconded 'by Blake. Carried.
